Awstens POV
Me and Mandy have been dating for five months now and I have been planning to propose to her for awhile and I think today's the day it's gonna happen. Geoff and Otto know and are gonna be there. I walk down stairs and get everyone into the car. Me, Mandy, Geoff, Otto and Geoff's new girlfriend Zoe we're all going to the beach. The sun is gonna be setting soon so it will be pretty. We get there and start walking. Me and Mandy are holding hands as we walk down. Geoff is in the bathroom and he's gonna miss me purposing to her because the suns setting and I can't wait for him. I let go of her hand and she stops and looks at me. I bend down on one knee. I pull out the ring. "Would you Do me the honor of making me the happiest dork in the world and marry me" I said opening the ring. I know it's almost the same exact thing as when I asked her out but I was so nervous I couldn't remember what I was actually going to say.
Mandy's POV
Awsten bent down on one knee and I felt my heart beat faster by the second. "Would you do me the honor of making me the happiest dork and marry me?" He asked opening up a box with a beautiful ring in it. I started to shake and cry "I- I um" I said before running back to the car which was a long ways away from where we were. I was scared I didn't want that commitment yet. I made it to the car and my breath from running so I fell to the ground on my knees and hands. I sat there trying to catch my breath before I felt hands pick me up "Are you okay" Geoff asked hugging me. "I fuck everything up" I said crying into his chest. "No you don't What happened?" He asked me keeping me close to him. "Awsten asked me to marry him and I ran away" I said crying even harder into his chest. "Why" he asked. "Because I'm not ready for that kind of commitment yet. I don't want to get married yet" I said still crying. "Awh I'm sorry" he says sitting down with me in his lap. He picks up my chin "I'm sorry" he says "for wh-" he kisses me. I can't stop myself i knew it was wrong but it felt so right. It started slow and sped up just a little but it was still quite slow. He bits my lip a little as he slowly pulls away. "Do you wanna go home before them" he asks me smiling. "Sure" I say standing up. I was so weak from running and Geoff must have noticed "here get on my back" he said. I jumped on his back as he held my legs up from falling. We got home fairly quick cause we lived close to the beach. He put me down on the couch and sat next to me. "Look I'm sorry about kissing you it's just that for five months now I have been holding in my feelings for you and I just had to" he explained to me. "It's fine. I wasn't over you and I'm still not I don't know what to do" I said starting to cry again. "Don't cry" he said wiping the tears away. "Mabye you guys need a break" he said. "I mean I don't know but that doesn't mean me and you can go back to the way it was before your with my best friend Zoe I couldn't do that to her" I explained. "I mean we could-" he started to say something but I saw Awstens car pull in "let's never speak of what happened" I said running up to Awstens room. Five minutes later Awsten came in while I was in his bed. "Do you not love me" Awsten says. "Of course I love you but I think we need to talk" I said. "Okay" he says sitting next to me. "Well I just wanted to tell you the only reason I ran away is because I got scared. I'm not ready for marriage" I explained to him hoping he would understand. "I'm sorry I should have waited" he said looking down. "Look, I think we need a break" we said at the same time. "Woah" I said to myself. "I'm glad we both agree" I giggled. "Yeah I just think we need a break like we can still be friends and you can still live here I just think we should just take a break for now" he explained. "Yeah like I'll stay in Ottos room since he's single" I giggled. "Yeah, oh! And if we see other people we need to be happy for each other" he explained. "Yeah...um can we share one more kiss for goodbye" I asked. "Yes of course" he said. We both leaned in and kissed each other. We had a full make out session before saying goodbye. "Goodbye for now but not really" he giggled. "Wait one more question" I asked before leaving his room. "Yeah" he said. "Do you think we'll ever date again" I asked. "I don't know but I sure hope so. It depends on if we find someone or not. I hope the best of luck for you and just know I still love you with all my heart" he said. "I will always love you and I hope we get back together because I already miss you but I know this is good for us" I said trying to hold on my tears. "Me too but we need this" he says as I walk out.
