My name is Callie and I live in a small town called Storelle. Theres two restaurants and a gas station, along with a handful of businesses in town. Theres two high schools, Oakland High and Walter Willaims Memorial. I go to Oakland High with my friends Beatrice and Addison. Then theres my boyfriend, Ross Glychester. I live on the pumpkin patch farm on the west end of town with my parents. Everyone thinks that I live a normal life, have a normal family and everything else, when really I dont.

My mother is a witch and my father is mortal. This means that I may become a witch, too. I can do simple spells and such, but my true power will be unlocked on my 18th birthday, which is in two weeks. To unlock my true power, there is a ritual which must be performed. I must wear a black dress and be anointed with the blood of a pure black sheep. After this, I must then recite the words of my familys sacred book. Then I will have my true powers. I cant wait, but in the meantime, I have to survive these last few weeks of high school.

Callie? Callie! Can you tell me what Poe meant when he said Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore? Mrs. Schetteman asks me.

He meant that even though he had hope, he couldnt achieve what he desired because he didnt have faith I reply. I know this poem in and out because my parents love Poes works.

The bell rings before Mrs. Schetteman could ask any more questions. I gather my things to head home before the football game tonight. Ross is the lead quarterback.
