JACKS POV
I finish up saying good bye to my parents for like the 600th time.
"Be safe." My mom tells me, pulling me in for a hug. "And call us if you need anything!"
"I'll be fine mom!" I exclaim as I let her go. My dad comes up and puts a hand on my shoulder.
"Have fun son." He smiles. "But not too much fun... We don't need grandchildren yet."
"DAD!" My eyes widen and I jump away. He laughs and closes the trunk of my black SUV. I give both my parents one last quick hug before I get in the car. I turn the keys and wave out the window. I'm finally going to live in LA, but I have a long drive ahead of me.

IZZYS POV (next day)
"Wake up Izzy!" My mom screams in my ear. I ignore her and roll over on my other side in an attempt to fall back asleep. A few seconds pass before my pillow is ripped out from under my head and she continually hits me with it.
"OKAY MOM I'M AWAKE!" I throw my hand up to stop the pillow from impacting again and slowly sit up.
"Your have to get ready to go to the airport!" She sets the pillow back down. My mind jolts awake, and I suddenly remember what's happening today.
"Ahh! I'm going to LA today!" I look over at my clock. It's 4:30 am and I'm NOT a morning person. I leisurely roll out of bed and put on some comfy traveling clothes. Black leggings, a pastel teal tank top, and a thin black cardigan. I skip to the bathroom where I brush my teeth, run some mascara over my eyelashes and throw my hair into a ponytail, then go downstairs, where my dad has already packed my suitcases into the trunk.
*At the airport*
Right as I'm about to get out of the car, I see Cassie and her parents pulling up behind us. I run around to the trunk to grab my suitcases, but my dad insists on carrying them. Instead I go to see Cassie.
"HI!!" I squeal as I pull her into an excited hug.
"I can't believe this is actually happening!!!" She squeals back as we pull apart from the hug but continue holding each others hands, jumping up and down.
"YAAAAAAS!" I shout.
"YAAAAAAS!" She repeats.
"Okay c'mon girls!" Her mom gestures us inside. The moment we step in the doors, I look at Cassie with a disgusted expression.
"What's wrong?" She asks looking concerned.
"It smells like rank airport!" I reply and we both laugh. Airports smell nasty. We go through baggage and continue to security.
"Well looks like this is it for a while, hey bud?" My dad sighs. He's not the type to cry but I can tell that he's trying his best to hold back his emotions.
"I'm going to miss you so much sweetie." My mom pulls me into a big hug. After a few seconds, she let's go, but hold me at arms distance. "Text us when you arrive. We want to make sure your safe."
"I promise." I reply. The 3 of us finish exchanging hugs, kisses and goodbyes while Cassie does the same with her parents. I give my folks one more hug and walk away with my best friend. I quickly turn around to wave goodbye again. After all, a year is a long time. We go through security and continue on to find our terminal.
"Here we are!" I sigh as I set down my carry ons. "I'll go grab us some food from Tim Hortons."
"Sounds good!" She replies. There's surprisingly no line so I order right away. Probably due to the fact that it's still early. I order our food and bring it back to where we're sitting.
"Here you go!" I hand a sandwich and drink to Cassie.
"A sandwich for breakfast?" She raises her eyebrow at me, but proceeds to open the bag anyways.
"Who doesn't love a good sandwich!" I sing, taking a bite. "Mmm... Food." We eat in silence. Not because of any loss for words, but simply because we're both much too busy eating to find time to speak.
"This is definitely in my top three of things I'll miss when were in America." Cassie sighs and takes a sip of her coffee. I nod in agreement before remembering something.
"WAIT!" I shout pulling out my phone. "I should be vlogging this!" I hit record. "Hey guys! So at the moment Cassie and I are at the airport and it's 6 freakin o'clock in the morning! But I have food so it's okay..." Cassie giggles. "Now you may be asking... Izzy, where are you going? And I'm here to answer that question."
"We're going to LA!" Cassie interrupts. I glare at her and she laughs.
"Well now that Cassie SPOILED IT!" I shout sarcastically. "Yes we are going to LA, but she didn't say for how long." Before she can steal my spotlight again I cover her mouth with my hand. "We're going for a whole year!" I smile widely. We make a few stupid airport jokes until our flight is called to start boarding.
Cassie immediately finds her seat since it's so close to the front and I head to mine. I find my spot a few rows back next to a woman with a small child sitting next to me.
"What's that?" The kid asks poking my cheek. The woman looks over to see her child bothering me, but neglects to do anything about it.
"My cheek..." I mumble.
"No what's the spot!"
"A birthmark..." I slowly reply.
"No it's not." He argues.
"Yes it is." I snap back in the same obnoxious tone. The quarrel goes on for a few minutes until I see the plane door being closed. No one sat next to Cassie so I grab my bags and go to sit with her.
"Where are you going?!" The child asks.
"Oh my god just hush!" I flip my hair out of my face. I strongly dislike this child. I shove my stuff in the cupboard above Cassie's seat and sit down.
"What was that about?" She laughs, gesturing towards the kid.
"I don't like him." I roll my eyes, causing us both to giggle. I film the takeoff and sigh with relief when I find that the plane has free wifi. The two of us watch a few movies together and take loads of selfies in order to pass the time.
*5 and a half hours of non-stop flight to LA later*
A voice shoots across the intercom with the usual "Fasten your seatbelt we will soon be landing. Please remain seated until the seatbelt light is turnt off. Have a great time in Los Angeles!"
We finally touched the ground and pulled up to the airport. It's almost 12:30 and I can't wait to get off this plane. After a few minutes the seatbelt light turns off and people being standing up and grabbing their bags. Cassie and I wait until a few people have left before trying to stand up. The annoying kid passes my seat, sticking his tongue out at me, to which I flip him off. Although inappropriate, I'm just hoping to never have to see him again. When the plane is almost empty, we finally to grab our stuff and walk out. I can't believe I'm finally back in LA. I'm finally going to see Jack again.
"Izzy..." Cassie murmurs.
"Yes?" I smile, taking in the familiar surroundings.
"I'm... I'm hungry." She whispers. We both laugh until I calm down enough to reply.
"We'll go get some food in a bit." I reply, a huge smile creeping across my face as we exit the building. The warm LA air feels heavily against my skin. I look around to see people holding signs with names written across them, taxis, and the big silver LAX letters. I reminisce about all the good memories that I've made in LA, before snapping back into reality when Cassie pokes me on the shoulder.
"Uh Izzy?"
"Ya?"
"Where are we going?" Oops. I may have forgotten to ask Jack what his address was.
"I'm not exactly sure..." I reply.
"IZZY!" She lightly hits my arm.
"Hold on, hold on! Izzy will fix it!" I pull out my phone and text Jack.
