She was like a sun, born out of darkness, only to chase it away with her own light. A miracle indeed.

The group of three watch Jotaro and (Y/N) wade through the waves for a little while longer, Polnareff taking out a camera and snapping photos of the almost impossible scene, showing them to Laurel and Joseph, the three sharing laughs at some of the stranger ones, an example being when (Y/N) places a starfish upon Jotaro's face while he was talking about something in the water between them. It was a small one, perhaps a baby, but it stuck to the tip of his nose, causing him to go cross eyed and blink in confusion. By now, Jotaro had given up trying to keep his clothes dry an sat down across from the girl as he told her information about the sea, as (Y/N) began laughing, it became contagious as Jotaro threw his head back, laughing with her. The trio on the shore watched, two amazed, one smiling happily, all sitting on the blanket, enjoying the warmth the day brought about.

Soon, Laurel began laying out the food she had asked the cafeteria staff to whip up for this occasion. Of course the ladies who worked there loved (Y/N), when she had free time, she would often come to the cafeteria to help clean or to listen to their stories, many times it was both. She was even kind to the ones who still believe that she shouldn't exist, no matter what anyone did to her she was kind. When she began training and she landed a solid hit on her trainer, she cried and tended to his broken lip, he was one of the scientists who were against her living, he had been nothing but rude and abusive to the girl, but she still helped him. From that day, he became just a little softer on her, but was still stern, although in a more big brother like way. Laurel continued remembering all the strange acts of kindness she has seen and been told about in the reports, a smile playing on her face.

Polnareff watched her as he began helping, seeing her looking as delicate as lace, the sunlight shining off her hair, it blowing lightly in the wind. He had never really experienced this with anyone, this sudden feeling of want. Not sexual, sure it was there (he is an adult after all), but it wasn't the main focus. To him, she was graceful as flame, and as beautiful as a goddess, always aweing him into a watchful quiet. Not noticing, he had reached for the last dish at the same time as Laurel, clichély their hands touch, her stormy blue eyes meeting his ocean blue ones, before they quickly retract, pink dusted upon both of their cheeks. Laurel quickly setting the last plate in place before looking back out to see Jotaro and (Y/N) calmly sitting down and talking.

"(Y/N)! Jotaro! Come and eat!" She yelled, gaining the attention of both Joeatar.

Standing, (Y/N) holds her hand out to Jotaro. Him taking it and allowing her to help him come to a crouching position before letting go and heading towards shore, a big smile on her face, Jotaro fallowing behind, more relaxed, it showed in the way his shoulders where less hunched, his face less scrunched up, eyes more clear.

Soon (Y/N) sits down on the blanket, her eyes sparkling happily.

"Ms. Laurel! Did you know that 71% of the world is water!" The Young blond said

Chuckling Laurel nods "Yes I did, do you want to eat now?" She asked as she gestured to the spread in front of her.

"Yes please!" (Y/N) replied politely with a smile. Handing everyone a plate from the stack beside her small frame.

Soon everyone was eating, the adults taking turns telling (Y/N) about the world (no not her dad's stand, I know I'll get these comments and damn it, i love them lol) Jotaro's stories mostly being about the ocean for obvious reasons.

By now the group has been outside for almost four hours, talking and laughing. (Y/N) was so happy, so happy she kept ignoring the burning sensation that she had begun to feel. But soon it turned into a searing pain, like her skin was ripping apart in strips, much like the first four years of her life. Soon her skin stars to disintegrate, blood running down her arm and landing on the white blanket, staining it and catching the eyes of Laurel, her face paling.

"(Y/N), honey, can you turn around for a second?" Laurel asked, knowing the 9 year old would try lie to her about any pains if it ment everyone else could continue having a good time.

"O-okay?" She replied, less enthusiasm in her voice than normal.

Standing, the small girl turned, revealing the her body was beginning to break down, evident in the patches of skin missing and red staining most to the white gown's back. Everyone looked on in horror for a second, before the little girl collapses, whimpering lightly.

"I-im sorry... I just wanted everyone to keep enjoying themselves..." She said smiling weakly at the group.

Quickly, not carrying about ruining her expensive clothes and lab coat, Laurel scoops up the girl turns to the compound quickly as a pale figure with bright yellow hair appeared, her stand had answered her call and with choked the uttering of the phrase "Starman; Starspeed" she became almost an electrifying blur, the only thing left was a glass imprint in the sand from the heat of her take off, the men running up the stares as they did not possess any speed based moves.

Laurel quickly slides through the door way, which had been left open when they first left, in case such an occurrence happened, almost immediately after exiting the sunlight, (Y/N)'s pillar person and vampire cells began immediately repairing themselves, stitching the skin back together under Laurel's fingertips, her leaning against the wall she had knocked into in order to stop, a small crack in the cement from the force.

"(Y/N)? (Y/N)? Come on starshine, were back inside again, your safe... everything is fine now. Open your eyes okay?" Laurel whispered to the unresponsive girl in her arms, her heart beating erratically.

Suddenly a thought comes in her head. Blood, she needs blood to help the vampire parts of her DNA.

"Starman, the vials. Over there, go get them." Laurel spoke, using the same tone she would when making a business move, no hesitation and full of determination. Nodding the pale figure floats quickly over and collects three tubes of the sticky red substance, bringing it back to Laurel, who opens the young girls mouth and pours the blood into it, one vial at a time, the blood disappearing as soon as it touches her body, absorbed for the healing process. Soon, (Y/N)'s green eyes open tiredly, looking clouded and glassy, like death before the light slowly returns.

"Ms. Laurel?..."
