The Day Life Changed Forever

Betrayal

It was 9:00pm and my phone was still ringing, so I decided to pick it up.

*ON THE PHONE*

*Hello?* - Me

*Megan, are you OK? I've been ringing for hours!* - Nero

*Do you think I would be OK? Holly just came up and...* (stars crying) - Me

*Hey, hey calm down, why did it bother you so much? It seemed like something must have happened before this.* - Nero

*I don't want to talk about it Nero* - Me

*Come on, it's what I'm here for, please.* - Nero

*Fine, but it's a long story. Back in 7th grade, I was friends with Holly. We were the closest anyone could get. We were in the same class, ate the same food, liked the same boys, got the same grades...it was crazy. I guess everyone was kinda jealous of us, I guess we kinda ran the place. The only difference between us was that I wasn't that rich, but she was. Really rich, like mansion and everything, sometimes my parents thought I lived at her house I was over there so much. Boys always went for her out of the two of us because they wanted her money. So then I got jealous of her, and she didn't like that, so she spread nasty rumours about me, and of course everyone believed it. When we got to highschool, she made sure to make my life myserable, which worked. Then when I met you I felt like something had finally gone right in my life so I was over the moon, the she came and ruined it like she always does.* (sighing) - Me

*Woah, I..I'm so sorry, I have to go sorry, something just came up, see you tomorrow babe.* - Nero

Nero quickly hung up...well that was wierd. I just emptied my heart for him and he didn't seem to care. Maybe I'm overthinking it. I'll just see what he is like tomorrow.

~~~~THE NEXT DAY~~~~

I slowly walked up to school as I felt faces turning. I just needed to find London and Nero.

"Nero" I said, walking up behind him.

"Hey" He kissed the top of my head, "You OK after last night?"

"Yeah, thanks." OK, so I must have been overreacting when I thought he would be acting wierd this morning. Holly and her groupies walked past laughing, then Holly blew a kiss to Nero. I looked up to him and he was smiling.

"Um, excuse me? What was that?" I asked him.

"What? Oh nothing, it was stupid." He laughed it off.

London pulled me off to the side. "Something is fishy, Megan. Please be careful." London gave me a hug then walked off to her first class.

"Hey Nero, want to walk to Science?" I asked.

"Sure" He replied as he grabbed my hand and we walked off. "So, tell me something about you that no one knows." Nero said while nudging me.

"...Why?" I asked suspiciously. 

"Just for fun, to get your mind off things."

"Hmm, OK. Umm, I'm scared of the dark. Like seriously scared." I said while trying not to laugh.

"Hahaha OK, well I guess I should tell you one. I'm in love with the prettiest girl alive." Nero said while looking up at the roof. I giggled.

"Well no, that's just plain obvious really. Hahaha" We both laughed while sitting on the floor outside of Science.
