Jordan sighed deeply, waiting for James to show up. The leader had called other man into his office because he really needed a friend to talk to. Normally it would be Dan, but everyone else in the office had gone home -besides Aleks, who was busy. The tall, red-capped man stood up, taking his hat off and running a hand absentmindedly through his hair. Tears formed in his eyes because for some reason, he couldn’t get this crippling feeling of sadness to go away. It was an alien feeling for Jordan, who was normally upbeat and happy (if not a bit aloof). He was also harboring a crush on one of his friends- one James Wilson (which he was pretty sure was the catalyst for the sadness he now felt). Guilt made him cringe but before he could think too much about it, the door opened and Jordan spun around, putting his hat back on and scrubbing the tears from his eyes. James stood in the doorway, looking slightly shocked. Jordan never outwardly showed his sadness, and here he had walked in on the man crying. “Hoardan what’s wrong? Why are you crying? Is everything okay?” James asked; face worried and brown eyes serious. “Yeah I’m fine!” he replied, trying to smile. James noticed his struggles and shook his head, closing the door and leaning against it. “Jordan” he said, softly as he crossed his arms. Jordan looked down, feeling ashamed. The tears came yet again, but he didn’t care to deny them as he looked up at the dark haired man. “Uh yeah, James you’re right. I’m not fine….I needed someone to talk to” he muttered and James smiled, face gentle and kind- most of all not judgmental. They looked at one another for a moment longer, and to Jordan it felt like an eternity. It was like seeing James in for the first time and he remembered what that was like (when they’d met). James’ smile made his whole face soften and the dimples on his cheeks stand out. Wow, he really looks handsome when he smiles, he thought to himself, blanching just a bit when he realized what had gone through his mind again. Jordan shook it off, taking a deep breath to steady himself. James could see the whole time how much trouble Jordan was having and became even more worried. Jordan always knew what to say and do- except when assembling things, where he would just wing it. They kept staring and James could see Jordan swallow nervously. He watched Jordan’s chest rise and fall with his breathing, watched his Adam’s apple bob as he swallowed. He felt a fluttering in his stomach, but ignored it. Jordan nodded, speaking quietly as he tried to keep the tears at bay and his voice steady. “Well, I’ve just been feeling really down lately, and had no one to talk to. Plus I have a crush on a friend” he admitted to James, sniffling and biting his lip. James’ beautiful chocolate brown eyes widened. He was shocked to hear that his best friend was in such a shape, and that he hadn’t sought out help sooner. He was also terribly curious as to who this “friend” was. James pushed aside the feeling of jealousy (that he didn’t fully understand) that surfaced as he gazed at Jordan. He noticed how sad the cat lover looked, and before he realized it, he was walking over to Jordan and pulling the taller, brown haired man into a tight hug. He wanted to get rid of that look and never see it on Jordan’s face again, because it just didn’t belong there. Jordan, who was shocked by the outright show of tenderness, started to silently cry against James’ black hoodie. James could feel his silent shaking, and rubbed Jordan’s back soothingly. “Don’t worry Jordan I’m here, you have me” he murmured and Jordan sobbed harder, letting all of his anger and frustration out as his tears soaked James’ hoodie. After a few minutes, Jordan pulled back. James met his gaze, and both men just stared at one another. Brown eyes held his own and Jordan felt something in his chest, like an ache of sorts. All he could think about was that he wanted to get closer, oh so much closer to James.
If you would have asked either man, no one knows who really moved first, just that the movement was made. Jordan’s eyes searched James’, seeing something different in them, in the way that James was looking at him. James could see something raw and needy in Jordan’s eyes, and the strange fluttering in his stomach was back. Jordan and James moved closer to one another, as if being pulled by gravity. Jordan’s eyes slipped shut as their lips met, as did James’. Jordan moved his lips against James’ surprisingly soft ones, feeling something warm blossoming inside him. James was the one to deepen the kiss, swiping his tongue against Jordan’s bottom lip. The brunet moaned, and James took the opportunity to slip his tongue into Jordan’s mouth. Jordan felt heat go straight to his groin as James’ tongue tangled with his. The kiss was hot and passionate and everything he needed. It was comfortable and warm, and it made the hairs on his arm stand up. Jordan moved his hands from his side to rest on James’ hips. He could feel the man’s warm skin beneath his fingers, and sighed softly into the kiss. They pulled apart just for a minute for air before Jordan went right back in. The silence in the room was deafening, and all that could be heard was the sound of their harsh breathing and lips moving in unison. Jordan shivered with pleasure when James’ beard rubbed harshly against his jaw. The kiss seemed to go on forever, and neither party seemed to mind- that is until there was a knock on the door. Jordan ripped himself away from James, and they both tried to get their breathing under control. James looked at his boss/friend with wide eyes as he came down from his temporary high. Jordan shook his head and cleared his throat, looking at James as pink stained his face. “Come in” he said, voice cracking. Aleks stepped in, looking from James to Jordan curiously. He finally settled on looking at James. “Are you ready dude? I want to get home and go to bed” the Russian said, sounding grumpy. James looked at Jordan, who was still watching him. James nodded at Aleks. “Yeah, sure Aleks…let’s go” he muttered, walking out. Aleks looked at Jordan once more before closing the door and walking out. Jordan wasn’t sure what to think. The way James had bolted out of the room…had he not wanted it? He’d seemed pretty eager at the time. Jordan felt more tears come to his eyes. He’d probably just lost one of his best friends because of a stupid crush. Sighing, Jordan left the office and when he got home, just went right to bed.
