To say we were in the middle of rehearsing for Soldaat van Oranje would've been a sligh understatement. I mean, who needs free time when they can power-learn their text by heart with three other people for hours? Right. I slowly started to see Jamie on such a regular basis that I soon considered him one of my closest friends. Gus, too, had started to accept him over the last weeks. I even dare to say that he liked him (goal reached!). Like the rest of the week we also spent today in the theatre and rehearsed. We had just arrived at the scene in which I tried to convince Gus not to leave the house during air raid alarm.

"No, Scar, try that with the kiss again." Scott said from his super-important director-chair. I never could've done his job, I just didn't have the "eye" for it. If you told me what and how I had it to do I could play things just like you wanted but to come up with all the ideas for scenes, props, light and other stuff in the first place? No, I left that to Scott.

"I think the whole scene might transfer it better then." he added.

"Okay."I said and then turned to Gus who had already closed the door in the lower area of the stage again and had gone a few steps back. We started about halfway through the scene again. "Please, Erik, don't do it!" I begged and grabbed his sleeve.

"You know damn well that I have to help him! He's alone out there, maybe he's dying right now, this very second!" Gus (or better his role) said urgently.

"Please, don't do it... for me!" I walked up to him, bridged the last few inches between us and kissed him. And let me tell you it was not just my role that melted.

"Okay okay." Scott clapped his hands and interrupted our acting that wasn't really acting anymore. "That was very good for now, we'll do it like that. But please let it look even more like it's your FIRST kiss." Then he tutned to the other actors. "Okay, that was it for today. We made it through well. Tomorrow is a break, so I'll see you all the day after tomorrow."

The first people started to leave the building. Gus hugged me tight and kissed me, this time as himself. "Hit me if you ever have to beg me for something as much as you have to do in the musical." He clearly reffered to the part we had jusy played. "I would put nothing and nobody EVER over you. Honestly." he shook his head over his character's behaviour and kissed me another time.

Trust me, I'm really not a romantic person, so it counted twice when I said it but I really loved him. I would've never thought I'd do but I did.

"Hey guys! Oops, sorry, I didn't want to interrupt anything there." Jamie said who just came from behind the curtain. In the beginning I had had slight worries (watch out! understatement of the year!) about Jamie's theatre-abilities as a film actor but they disappeared quite fast. It exposed that Jamie had went to an acting school and that this wasn't his first play to act in. So, respect that he managed to switch between film and theatre, even MUSICAL, so well. And this is where the next problem had come along: musical.

I had only acted in "normal" plays up to now and my singing was okay but not outstanding. Until today we had only practiced the spoken parts of the scenes and only the ongoing of the singing parts. Scott had told me that Jamie had already taken part in two musical productions (I only knew Sweeny Todd), so he was already experienced. And after a few drives in his Jaguar with the volume up I realized that he definitely sang better than just "good". Some people really had it all! H looked incredible, had a charming character, more money than I could ever dream of having, played the guitar and the piano AND could also sing like an angel. Oh and of course he was a crazy talented actor, too.
