Tom felt nervous, he couldn't stop his leg from bouncing up and down in anticipation of seeing his best friend. He could feel Zendaya and Harrison's eyes lingering on him as he was staring at the door of Fleur's room. No amount of daydreaming or counting the seconds on the clock was making James exit the room any faster; the conversation between the McAvoy siblings seemed to be dragging on and on. Tom could occasionally hear Fleur's voice muffled through the wall, and it came as a feeling of relief that she is in fact okay, that she's alive and kicking.

Zendaya and Harrison began talking quietly amongst themselves, looking at Tom then towards Fleur's door. This made Tom feel sick to the stomach, his chest suddenly felt tight and salty tears pricked his eyes. Loud coughing could be heard from outside the room, followed by a nurse running frantically passed the three young adults waiting outside. When the coughing subsided, the door clicked open to reveal James with tear stained cheeks, running a hand through his disheveled hair probably for the thousandth time today. James motioned for Tom to enter the room, waiting for him to enter before closing the door and sitting outside with Harrison and Zendaya. Fleur was first bed on the right, sniffling and wheezing as she was breathing in and out. Tom finally caught a glimpse of how sick his best friend really was as she lay tucked under the cold hospital bed sheets. Fleur's face was puffy and she had dark rings under her eyes. Tom reached down to run his hand through Fleur's hair, her usually soft brown waves were knotted and greasy. Just how sick Fleur is, only really hit Tom as he sat in the chair next to his best friend's bed.

"What are you doing here Tom? Go home." Fleur asked, her voice was hoarse and she struggled to open her eyes to look at Tom.

"I don't want to go home, not while you're stuck here Fleur." Tom's voice wavered as he spoke and he could feel his eyes start to water.

Fleur reached one hand out from under the covers and made a 'grabby-hands' motion towards Tom. He softly put his own hands around Fleur's, gently rubbing it before leaning his elbows on the bed and bringing Fleur's hand to his face. Tom sniffled and began to cry, he felt guilty for ignoring his friends and hurt that he let this happen to one of the most important people in his life. Fleur moved closer to Tom, resting her head against his shoulder which sat flush against the bed, and using her free hand to hold Tom's arm wanting to feel close with her best friend.

"I feel so stupid right now, I'm sorry Fleur. I can't believe I ignored you and just stopped caring, I love you and it hurts to know that I could have just stepped in to prevent this and I didn't. I've been such an awful best friend." Tom struggled to get words out without his voice cracking and ragged breathing interrupting him.

"I also called Molly on the way here and told her she needed to leave me alone, and my friends too. Harrison showed me some of the horrible things she'd been saying to you and him." Tom leaned his head on top of Fleur's, careful not to hurt her. He heard his best friend sigh in contentment and felt a small smile grace his own face.

"It felt good knowing she's gone but not as good as knowing you're alive and safe." Tom finished talking with a smile on his face, and felt almost giddy when he heard Fleur lightly chuckle as he squeezed her hand.

"While I'm still kinda mad at you, I am glad that you came." Fleur lowered her voice to a whisper, feeling tired again. Her musceles became relaxed as Tom reached around with one arm to trace his fingers along Fleur's back.

Tom noticed that Fleur was beginning to fall asleep against his shoulder, he kissed her forehead and asked if she'd like him to stay. Fleur nodded her head with such a soft movement that you'd barely notice it because she's so exhausted. Tom slowly and softly untangled his hands and lifted Fleur's head back onto her pillow, then moving round to the other side of the bed where there was a smigeon more room. As he lay down next to Fleur, he felt her turn over to face him and lean into his chest. Tom let out a quiet laugh, and closed his eyes while wrapping an arm around Fleur.

James opened the door to the room, trying hard to not make a noise. He was going to tell the pair the good news that Fleur was ready to be discharged once the doctor gets back. He then noticed Tom and Fleur sleeping soundly next to eachother and decided its probably best to just snap a quick picture and leave to help Zendaya and Harrison load their things into the car.
