As the figure ran through the forest, she would zigzag in between the trees. She could feel the presence of the two people following her. She tried her best to lose them. The girl would run up a large rock in her way, making her way into a tree, now hopping from one tree to another.

"Shit." She heard one of the people say, their tone sounding as they've now lost her.

"Where the hell did she go??" The other asked.

"She's in the trees." The one from before said. The girl climbed up one of the taller trees. She moved the leaves, making it where she can see to two. The two males removed their helmets, the girl knew the two.

"Well, do we go after her? Or should we report back to the boss?" The second male questioned.

"What do you think Ryan? Get up into that tree and fucking get her!" The first male yelled, the second male, known as Ryan, nodded.

Ryan grabbed his daggers and began to stab them into the bark of the tree, using them to climb up the tree. She peered down at Ryan as he made his way up, she pulled her sword out. Ryan was close, so she decided to strike. She jumped out of her hiding spot, cutting Ryan in the arm in the process, causing him to lose his grip and fall to the floor.

A groan escaped the male's mouth as he hit tee ground quite hard. The girl landed on her feet, barely, she was more on her knees. She stood to her feet quickly though, holding the sword in front of her, in case the first male were to immediately come at her, but he didn't. He stood there, arms crossed and shaking his head, this confused her.

She didn't hesitate though, glancing at him then at Ryan before running off.

•••

The male didn't chase her, he just stood there, not shocked, not surprised. He looked down at Ryan, crouching down next to him, "You dumbass." He said before flicking Ryan in the face. Ryan mumbled before sitting up, holding his bleeding arm.

"How is she so skilled? Like, if she's an escapee, she shouldn't be as good as she is, was she put into training?" Ryan questioned.

"No, she wasn't, I'm positive. I would've seen her, she doesn't look familiar." The male said.

"Matt, she is literally wearing our armor under that cloak." Ryan pointed out to him.

The male, Matt, watched the girl run off in the far distance, she was already gone the second he looked. He only saw her for a split second.

"There's no way she's one of us." Matt started, tapping his chin to think, "How did she manage to escape? How do we not know her name? Why don't I of all people know who she is?!" Matt was freaking out a bit, knowing that they'd probably be in more trouble than they needed. Anthony was extremely strict, when he didn't get his way, he'd completely flip out, killing possibly a whole unit of knights.

"Dude, it'll be fine, we're some of his strongest knights in hell, he won't do anything remotely inhuman." Ryan said, trying to call Matt down.

"Inhuman? We aren't human anymore Ryan! If you haven't noticed!" Matt snapped at the bleeding male. Ryan stood up and slapped Matt across the face.

"Chill dammit, you're going to draw attention to us." Ryan said, lowering his voice as well.

Matt took a minute or two to calm down. He sighed, not pleased with their outcome of not catching the girl. "Fine, let's go." He said, walking off as Ryan follows behind him, holding his arm tighter.

••••

The girl didn't stop, she was panting heavily like a dog, but she didn't want to risk being caught until she knew she was safe. Eventually, she reached a village. She didn't even notice it until she smacked into someone. Her scarf had fallen down, her hood already down. She stumbled backwards and looked up at the male she bumped into.

She was frightened, the male was much taller than her. She grabbed the handle of her sword from underneath the cloak, but the man just asked, "You good?"

She was hesitant, but just nodded, not speaking.

"Quiet eh? Got it, you need anything? I could ask our farmers or blacksmiths for anything." He said.

The girl then noticed the male's attire. Armor, guard armor. She could be caught, thrown into their jail, or possibly worse, executed. She shook her head, trying to rush past him.

"Is something wrong?" He asked, turning around as the girl walked quickly away from him. He was suspicious of the girl, trying to figure out why she was wearing what she was, and where she could've came from. She looked like she could've came from the eastern villages, that they weren't a fan of, since they've been trying to declare war on the small village for ages, trying to make them side with them as well.

He glared at the girl, grabbing her by the arm before she could run off. He just so happened to grab the arm that rested on her sword. She was scared, and tried not to move.

"What village do you come from?" He asked, sounding much scarier than before. His friendliness completely disappeared.

"I don't come from a village, I'm a merchant, I travel from village to village, I don't stay in villages." She simply said, lying was a specialty of hers. The guard tightened his grip on her arm.

"Sorry ma'am, I'm going to have to take you into questioning." He said.

"For what?" She asked as she turned to face him, jerking her arm away from him, "I haven't done a thing to this small village that you live in." She snapped.

"Yes, but we are very suspicious are newcomers, we don't have good experiences with them." He explained, hoping she'd understand.

She stood for a moment, sighing before nodding. The guard began to walk and the girl took this as her chance to leave. She dashed in the other direction. "Hey!" He yelled after her, chasing the girl into the forest. The other guards noticed and followed after him.

"Fuck fuck." The girl mumbled, seeing about 3 guards in total chasing after her. She saw a low branch up ahead. She sped up, sprinting toward it as she jumped up and grabbed it. Her eyes then widened as she swung forward on the branch, over a large cliff that led down to rocks only. "Oh my-." She mumbled before pulling herself up the branch, and up the rest of the tree.

She sat high up in the tree, seeing the three guards catch up to her.

"If you come down now, without any force, we will let you go once questioning is done." The head guard said, which the girl clearly didn't believe.

"You think i'm that dumb? Try again." She said as she fixed her hood and scarf, dammit. They must know her face now.

"Ha." The head guard scoffed, "We've got a smartass on our hands."

One guard pulled out a bow, grabbing and arrow and pointing it directly at the girl. The spooked the girl at first, but she didn't react in anyway to it.

"Go ahead and shoot me, what good is it going to do on you? More blood on your hands, killing an innocent, have fun with that guilt." She spat, swinging her legs back and forth, shrugging.

The head guard waved at the guard with the bow, which confused the girl as the guard put the bow away.

"We aren't going to kill you, we just need to know whether or not you're trustworthy, so you don't kill anyone in their sleep." He explained, but held his sword tightly in one hand.

"Believe me, I don't kill people for fun, I'm not you guys." She said, "If I kill, It'll be that i'm just merely protecting myself, or another."

The head guard waved his hand at both guards, and the two guards asked, "Are you sure?" Before leaving the head guard. Once they disappeared, the girl lowered herself down a branch, only one.

"What? You trust me all of a sudden?" The girl said, holding onto a branch above her, to make sure she doesn't fall to her doom.

"Nope," The guard started but he just removed his helmet, "But i'd like to try."

The girl had to admit, the guard was quite handsome. She shook her head, "Go ahead, I don't know if i'll want to."

The male shrugged, "Let me begin, what's your name?" He asked.

The girl shook her head, "Nothing, that isn't important information to you."

"Fine, I'll tell you my name. Hi, i'm Danny."
