(Y/n) POV

"Woah"

That was all I could manage to say, as I took in the sight that was Divine Beast Vah Harune. Zelda, Link, and myself had long since left Zonai Village and were on our way to the castle. We were just outside of Castle Town when my eyes unexpectedly landed on the giant contraption in the middle of a field. I didn't know what I was expecting, it was indescribable! Well actually that's not true, it looked like a giant dog, but more stylized and beastly.

As the three of us near it, without thinking I dismounted my horse and ran up to one of it's 'legs'. I wanted to get a closer look.

"(Y/n) wait!" Zelda called out after me, "You'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with Vah Harune later! My father and the other Champions need to meet you!"

I waved her off, only half listening, "I'll catch up!" I didn't know what had come over me to speak so casually to the princess. But I just needed to meet this beast immediately.

Zelda didn't say anything but she must've given in, for I heard the sound of her's and Link's horses trotting away.

Hesitantly, almost as if on instinct, I placed my hands on Harune's rough golden brown surface. The glowing blue lights that adorned it's body immediately brightened and a low groan was heard from it's maw.

I felt something come over me, a strange new sensation. A feeling of familiarity and safety, a feeling of home.

Dropping my hands, I took a deep breath. That didn't feel like a rejection. The groans Harune made were hard to read but they didn't sound entirely negative. From what little the princess described, Harune made it very clear that it didn't want Link as it's master.

Nothing's happened, so I can only take that as a good sign.

I began to walk around the perimeter of the beast, checking it out from what angles I could see from the ground. By Hylia's light, this beast was massive!

'Is there a way inside? Am I suppose to go inside??' A million questions ran through my head with no answers to any of them. And I certainly wasn't going to get any by standing out here by myself. How long have I been here for? It couldn't have been very long.

Just when I was about to turn and walk back to my horse, a rapid gust of wind blew into my face. Causing my hair to go all out of sorts. Strange, there hasn't been a breeze all day...

"So, you must be the new Hylian Champion, I presume?"

Jumping in place, I whipped around in all directions, trying to find the source of the new voice. My eyes darted up, landing on... is that a Rito? A real Rito!

The Rito in question sat perched atop one of the ledges of Harune's leg. He had a bow and quiver strapped to his back. Dark blue and white feathers covered the majority of his body. He was glaring down at me with the most intense bright green eyes I've ever seen.

For the second time today, I was left speechless.

"The princess said you'd be here, gawking over Vah Harune" The Rito began as he leaped down to stand in front of me, his large wings spread out gracefully, slowing his landing, "I'm somewhat surprised it hasn't blasted you sky high just as it did with that tedious knight"

Now that he was eye level with me, I started noticing other details I didn't see before. Four long braids were sprouting from the back of his head. A large yellow beak sharp to the point made up his mouth. Shoulder and chest plates resting on his lean body. He was taller than me but not by much, I came up to his neck.
