Chapter Twenty-Seven

"Oh my god..." I whispered quickly pulling Luke behind a tree. I watched the figure walk down the street. "It's starting.." I whispered.

"What's starting?" Luke whispered.

"The dream... it's all going to start.." I whispered looking back at the figure of a very close relative. "He's not checking the houses, he just patrols once in a while to see if anything has changed. He doesn't go onto any property." We watched as my brother Brady walked up and down the street a few more times then got in a car, which by the way he's not old enough to drive, and drove away. "He can drive now?" I asked in disbelief.

"What? He's not old enough?" Luke asked.

"He's 15 years old." I said starting to walk over to the house Rick was checking. "Rick!" I called stepping into the foyer.

"Hang on." He called back. Carl walked in instead.

"He's hurt." He said quietly, "He won't admit it but he's hurt."

"It's okay Carl, everything's gonna be fine for your Dad. He's a strong man." I reminded him. He nodded and stalked of towards the kitchen.

"Rick," I said as he hobbled into the room. "I wanted to tell you that we're staying, all of us, in the house across where we cleared." I informed him.

"What..gives you the right..to command?" he asked

"You're clearly in no shape to have control so I will take over, I may not be the oldest but I know what I'm doing." I answered. Both Luke and Daryl were older than me but Fay was four days younger so, ha.

"Fine." He said, "Carl and I will be right over."

"I'll help you guys." Luke offered. I tensed up, "I'll be fine Jules, trust me."

"I-I don't-fine." I give up to his pleading look. "Just, just be careful okay?" I said giving him a hug. "I don't want to loose you too."

"I'll be fine," He smiled "Trust me."

I walked back across the street into the house and found Fay and Daryl.

"Daryl, why don't you go help Luke with Rick?" I offered, I looked at Daryl's ankle and saw it was bandaged but it's Daryl so he got up and walked. I was about to protest when he turned.

"I don't wanna hear it princess." He smirked, "I'm helpin'." I grunted in response and he walked out the door. Fay and I sat staring at each other having one of our classic staring contests when a gun shot went off. I hopped up,

"It's probably Walker Jules." She reminded pulling me down, "Relax a little. Then another gun shot then a dozen.

"Can I panic now?" I asked getting up.

"We both can." She agreed racing to the door. I had my gun in hand and she had hers.

We ran out to Rick and Carl. i looked at them, fear twisted in my stomach.

"Where's Luke and Daryl?" Fay and I asked, our voices in sync and volume and urgency the same.

Carl looked up at us then down at Rick who was bleeding immensely. "We need to get my Dad inside."

"Carl." We pressed, "What happened?" I hoped this was a prank and the boys would jump out.

"I'm sorry Juli..." Rick said quietly, "I tried."

"What happened to them?" I yelled, tears streaming down my face.

"They took them."

Oh my gosh i updated on a, wait... *Checks date* On a Wednesday! O.O I know it's not normal of me but since yesterday I've been in a better mood. I guess i just like the fact that i can feel free and i don't have anything negative in my life. Last night i went through my clothes and donated them. I cleaned and re-organized my room in preparation for school. And overall i just don't feel a weight on my shoulders. And of course I am saying that the day before school starts. We'll see how long this lasts, probably a while to be honest.

I am updating every book that has a chapter written! (Which is like one other). The reason being, I took some hard classes this year so I can't really put this first. Softball then school then writing, its usually Softball, writing and then school.
