—TAEKOOK—
01.20.19Taehyung was known to play with Jungkook's heartstrings on the daily, but today was exceptionally different.
It all started with a simple phrase and a lone daisy that perked up from the tall grass in the park that took Jungkook back to his roots.
Jungkook's high school uniform told him he doesn't belong on the playground, but he ignored its nags to go back to class and stepped onto the pavement path leading up to the colorful assortment of metal bars.
Soon enough, he found himself at the top of the slide, knees huddled close together and near his chest, daisy in hand and cheeks flushed at thoughts of Taehyung. Jungkook twirled the small daisy by its stem using his thumb and index finger.
Finally, he sang the words. "He loves me," Then proceeded to pluck a white petal from the poor flower. "He loves me not." Another petal gone in the wind, swiftly chasing after the first one in the air.

"You're breaking up with me? After everything that happened at that party? I should be the one breaking up with you!" Taehyung spat at the girl standing in front of him. She stayed idle, unfazed about the situation playing out between her and Taehyung. "You're not gonna say anything?"
Gusts of wind traveled past the two, making the scene even more dramatic. It was pure silence except for the muffled blaring of the announcements coming from inside the school building. "Whatever."
Finished with his Ex's lack of comment on the situation, he stomped off of the school grounds with an angry frown. He wanted to run his hands through his loose, blond curls, but his hands were too busy being balled up into fists.
"She never loved me."

"He'll never love me."
Jungkook exhaled deeply at the now naked flower in his hand. It had been plucked of all its petals, just like how Jungkook was plucked of all his hope of being with Taehyung.
Even if the last petal was a, 'He loves me.', it still wasn't enough to fuel Jungkook's hope. Taehyung has a girlfriend. A pretty one, too.
The flower is lying.
Jungkook thought.
His amber eyes took themselves off the ground and to the sky. It was painted a bright blue with creamy strokes of white here and there. Jungkook felt at ease as he shut his eyes and indulged himself in the silence of the playground. His legs let loose and sprawled themselves out in front of him, while his arms supported him up like pillars as he leaned back to soak in the warm sun.
Everything was perfect, for the time being.
Until he heard stomps on the pavement leading up to the playground.
"What the heck are you doing up there?" A voice came from below the top of the slide where Jungkook sat. He opened his eyes in an instant for he knew that voice too well.
"Taehyung? Why are you skipping?" Jungkook looked down at Taehyung and immediately regretted his decision. He caught sight of Taehyung's alluring gaze, puckered lips, furrowed eyebrows, tinted cheeks, and his curls. Oh, those blond curls. It all sent Jungkook's head into a spiral and his heart to do flips.
"You okay? You look sick." Taehyung cocked his head to the right, examining Jungkook's flushed appearance. He received a sudden whim to brush the hair out of Jungkook's eyes, but he couldn't do that if he wasn't anywhere near him. "I'm coming up there. Make room."
Jungkook winced. Oh, please don't. You're too beautiful to be admired up close. He was a little fearful, but not of one, but of many things.
One, he has never seen Taehyung up close. Who knows what'll happen to him after what had occurred when he saw him from afar? That small freeze up was not attractive at all.
Two, Jungkook has never formally spoken to Taehyung. There has only been exchanges of greetings and complaints on schoolwork. Three, he has the biggest crush on the boy. What if he says something and upsets Taehyung?Following the older boy's orders, Jungkook scoots over to make room for Taehyung.
"You never answered my question, Taehyung. Why are you skipping?" Jungkook was surprised he managed to get the words out in the presence of Kim Taehyung, but nonetheless, he was proud of himself."I had a talk with someone, Mom." Taehyung poked fun at Jungkook, who eventually let out a small giggle. "I should be asking the same for you, Jungkook."
Jungkook gasped internally at Taehyung's knowledge of his name. He knows my name?!
The school bell rang for second period and that's when the two met eyes. Jungkook studied Taehyung's eyes, which was soon to be discovered that they held pain inside. "Were you crying?"
"What? No!" Taehyung wiped at his eyes and shook his head frantically. He looked away for a moment, then back at Jungkook who kept his gaze on Taehyung intently. "A little. It was angry crying, not so much sad crying, you know?"
"I know."
"Yeah. My girlfriend broke up with me."
"Oh." Jungkook fiddled with his fingers, not knowing what to say next. "She seemed like a bitch." He bluntly said, which made Taehyung turn his head up and to Jungkook with shock. "Sorry."
"Don't be." Taehyung put a hand on Jungkook's shoulder and let out a laugh that reassured Jungkook greatly. "I wish I would've known that sooner."

The two boys ended up chatting till the end of fourth period and even exchanged numbers. Jungkook will always make sure to change up the story's details when he tells his friends about the occurrence. He was definitely not shaking while typing his number into Taehyung's phone.
"I'll see you around?" Taehyung tilted his head, making his loose curls go to one side cutely. Jungkook hummed with a smile, and Taehyung smiled back.
Maybe Jungkook was wrong.
Maybe,
The flower wasn't lying at all.
