Chapter Forty - Six

*Mikey's P.O.V*
Today was a big day. Well, just for me really. Nobody else knows whats happening today apart from me and i'm nervous as hell. You can probably guess whats happening. I've wanted to do this for a while but I didn't because in the past, stuff has been bad with things happening that have knocked us all down. Recently things have been looking up so I thought today was the best day for it. I was going to propose. I know were still only young, and we don't have to get married for years but I wanted to propose because I know its Liv I want to be with for the rest of my life. I want to make it official and put a ring on it, so an engagement ring is that one step closer. The first step of the day was going to visit Derek to get his approval. I know you're meant to go to the father but Liv doesn't see her dad often and is closer to Derek.

My plan was to get Liv distracted all day with the girls and then go to Derek, ask and ask him to help plan the big moment. I had some ideas in mind but I wanted Derek's input and opinion as I wanted it to be perfect. I had been awake for a couple of hours trying to think of what to do today and it was now 9am. Liv rolled over and cuddled into me yawning and opening her eyes. "Good morning baby" She said pecking my lips. I pecked back smiling. "Good morning my love." I grinned and held her close. "I think I'm gonna spend the day with Sophie and Amelia if that's okay? I haven't spent a proper day with them for a while." She smiled and i nodded as it meant I could go and sort everything out with Derek. We stayed laying in bed for a little while before I headed downstairs to make Liv a cup of tea whilst she went for a shower and as the kettle was boiling I text Derek asking if I could come over and he said yes.

Liv sat down after coming down from the shower and drank her tea. I said I would stay with her until the girls came over then I was going to head to Derek's. I sat with her and drank my tea too. The door bell rang so I assumed it being the girls and went and opened the door for them. They both said hi to me and hugged me before going over to Liv. I walked to Liv kissed her and said goodbye and then left climbing in the car and driving straight to Derek's house. It wasn't a long drive but for the journey I was nervous. I know me and Derek are close mates but after all the shit that's happened between me and Liv in the past, he could easily turn around and say no. I pulled up and knocked instantly. I got welcomed by Derek and we went inside and sat down.

"You good mate?" He said smiling at me and handing me a drink. I nodded and downed the glass of water. "Okay something is on your mind. What's up?" He said laughing just after I had downed the drink. "Okay okay" I laughed and nodded. "I want to propose to Liv. I know were young and we don't even have to get married for a few years or whatever I just really want to propose to her and I want your approval." I said messing with my fingers and looking down at them trying not to make eye contact with Derek. "Mikey" He said so I looked up at him. "Of course you can propose to her. I know how happy you make her and you guys are meant to be together. " I smiled and nodded hugging him and he laughed hugging me back. "Just hurt her after this and I really will break your face." He said more seriously and nodded but still smiling.

We sat and spoke for a while trying to figure out how I was going to do this. I wanted to do it in front of the group but somewhere special. We came to the conclusion that we all go to an outdoor cinema tonight to watch Grease and I do it through the film at some point, or when we all get home after it, do it then. We stayed and filmed some videos and caught up for a few hours then it reached 3pm and the film would be starting at 4:30pm, so we decided to leave back to mine and Liv's house to let the girls know the plan for the evening. As we pulled up we could hear giggling from in the living room as soon as we reached the door. We laughed and walked in. "Hey guys" I said laughing. Liv came up to me and Sophie up to Derek saying hey. "Do you wanna invite Rory over Amelia so you're not alone?" I said jokingly and chuckling. She laughed and said yes so went and rang Rory.

Rory showed up a little while later so we were all together now. Sophie was cooking us all food whilst we all sat watching movies. "Why don't we go to the outdoor cinema later to watch Grease?" I suggested. Everyone nodded and agreed to going so my plan was beginning to work. "Food is ready!" We heard Sophie shout from the kitchen. We all walked in and the food smelt lovely. She had cooked lasagne and she was such a good cook so I already knew it was going to taste really good. I took my plate and so did everyone else before walking back into the living room, sitting down and eating the food. "That was so good baby, as always, thank you." Derek said pecking her lips and smiling. "Thank you" She smiled pecking back. We waited for everyone to finish eating before getting our shoes and coats on ready to leave for the cinema. We were taking 2 cars and decided on mine and Derek's. Me, Liv, Rory and Amelia climbed into mine as Sophie and Derek got into his, then we drove off to the outdoor cinema location.

As soon as we arrived it was already pretty busy. We found a spot to park the 2 cars, in good view of the screen. We climbed out. Me and Liv placed a blanket on the bonnet of the car as did Sophie and Derek and we sat down, whilst Rory and Amelia sat on the blanket on the floor in between the 2 cars. "I'll go get us some snacks and drinks." I said standing. Derek stood up also offering to help so we walked over to the shop near the back and ordered some stuff. "You nervous bro?" Derek said. "Yeah mate, I really hope she says yes." I sighed. "I'm sure she will. You gonna do it now or later at the house?" I looked at him. "Later." I nodded and he nodded back. We grabbed the snacks and drinks and walked back over to everyone. I cuddled up to Liv and she cuddled me back. The movie began so we all got comfy and watched it.

The film lasted a couple of hours but eventually came to an end. I looked next to me and Liv was almost asleep on my shoulder. I chuckled and kissed her head. "baby, we're going home now, so you can sleep once we get back." I smiled and she opened her eyes and nodded laughing. I looked next to me and the other 4 were already packing up and getting in the cars ready to go. I helped Liv up and placed the blanket in the boot before climbing in alongside Liv, Rory and Amelia. We drove off back home, parked up on the drive and all headed in siting straight down on the sofa in our couples and cuddling up to each other.

It's time Mikey. I kept saying to myself. It's now or never.
