A girl walked through the snow, her husband right behind her. Her scarf covered her face and her hands held to her stomach. This was not the winter she was hoping for, but it was still better then being forced to work in snow banks. It still wasn't ideal but it was still plenty cold.
Her husband unhesitatingly stopped. She looked at him in confusion as he walked to their left. She followed, scared half to death as the bushes shifted around. Her heart would beat fast as she took out her small throwing knife clumsily. Her husband mouthed, "One, two, three..." he shoved the bushes aside and the women held the knife over her head, ready to strike. She immediately dropped it, seeing a baby covered in blood.
She dropped down and held it in her arms. She wiped the blood away... it obviously wasn't the baby's. She stood up with the baby. "Where's it's mother or father...?" Her husband asked wearily. The women looked at him and gestured toward the blood.
"She doesn't have any injuries...." She cried. He nodded and looked sadly at the young baby."Let's take her home...." The women said. He nodded while giving a weak smile.
