Past:
As she walked though the corridors she looked like she didn't know her way around. She obviously did it was just the look in her eyes that would say otherwise. She'd been here for ages she knew every room and exactly where everything was but she still looked lost. She always looked lost. She was always alone too which added to the people thinking she was lost. No, she wasn't physically lost. But you could sense something not quite right about the way she acted. It was sort of like she felt like she didn't belong anywhere. Like she's just not supposed to be anywhere. It's just the way she felt. She is supposed to be here.
Calum Hood was that curious kid who wanted to get to know her. He wanted to know what was going on in her thoughts. She wasn't even in his year but he needed to talk to her. He wanted to know at least something about her.
"What's so interesting about her anyways? She's just a loner and no one likes her" Michael tells Calum. "I don't know Mikey I just feel like she has an interesting story to tell" Calum replies to his friend. "I don't think she'll talk to you she doesn't even talk to people her age" Michael replies. "Well I mean there's no harm in trying" Calum responds.
Everyone else thought she was crazy. They all called her 'the crazy lost girl'. But Calum knew she wasn't crazy. He didn't even know her and he knew she wasn't crazy. They always ignored her; they never ever even bothered once to ask her how she was.
She walked through the corridors going to her next class. People kept pushing her but she ignored them the same way they ignore her. She tried talking to people before but they were always too busy with their own friends to even notice her. They couldn't seem to give a damn about her.
Each day that would pass always be the same for her. She would have the whole table to herself during lunch break as no one would sit next to her. So no wonder she feels like she doesn't belong here.
She was always alone with her thoughts eating away at her. She couldn't fight them because she knew they would win. Her thoughts were almost as deep as the ocean she could drown if she thought about those thoughts too much. She tried not to but it was almost impossible. Her face would hardly ever look joyful. People would think she was depressed.
He didn't care what anyone else said about her he knew they were wrong. He had to talk to her before she's gone from this place forever. He had two more years left while this was her last year here. He'd tried approaching her before but she walked away each time. She must of thought he was waiting to talk to someone else. I mean who can blame her she's not at all used to any attention around here.
Maybe if she had someone to talk to she would be able to escape those awful thoughts but all she had was herself. You could spot her talking to herself sometimes maybe her thoughts sometimes. People found her creepy. They could have been scared of her that's why they ignored her.
"Now is the chance" Calum mutters. "Hi" he says to her walking towards her direction. He gets no reply as she still doesn't believe Calum is actually talking to her. She is so used to being ignored that she hardly notices it when people try talking to her.
They think she's mute but she's not. She speaks. She really does. They just can't be bothered to hear what she has to say. She'd given up trying to talk to them after her first week of being here. She tried saying 'hi' to someone but they just walked away.
She had her earphones in a lot of the time she hated hearing the chatter of the people who don't acknowledge her existence. She felt invisible whenever she walked around the place. I guess if they saw her dancing around naked in the corridors they still wouldn't notice her. So why would she believe that Calum actually wanted to talk to her.
"She's just gonna ignore you again stop wasting your time Cal" Luke says to Calum. "I'm gonna try until I get a reply" Calum replies. "Suit yourself, I know you're not gonna get a reply though" Luke responds. "Fine" Calum says back.
"Um... hi" Calum says. She sits at her lunch table listening to music. She definitely didn't hear him. What can he expect anyways? She's just doing what she always does. And he's still just trying to get to know her.
"Another fail, right?" Ashton asks. "Well obviously" Calum replies. "Not long until the end of this school year you're gonna have to think of a plan" Ashton responds. "I guess" Calum says to Ashton.
Calum kept trying to speak to her but she never noticed him. It was getting closer and closer to the end of the school year. He was on the verge of giving up on trying to talk to her. He may never see her again after she leaves. He just wanted to talk to her. But he couldn't because of the way the people treated her. They treated her like a different creature. Like a creature they hated as if she was a monster.
He sees her alone at her lunch table as usual but this time she didn't have earphones in she must have forgotten to bring them. "Hi" he says. "You talking to me?" She asks him you can actually hear the shock in the tone of her voice. He nods suddenly feeling a bit intimidated by her. "Hello" she replies. "Umm so... are you okay?" He asks her suddenly not knowing what to say. "Kind of... I mean yes I guess you could say so" she replies to him. "That's good I suppose" he says. "I'm sorry but I gotta go" she says and leaves the table.
Calum didn't notice the whole crowd of people in the lunch hall staring at him while he was talking to her. Only now did he notice as the people were still staring at him. Maybe she noticed it before he did? Or maybe she felt uncomfortable talking to him? Maybe she was too shocked someone was actually talking to her she didn't know what to do? Maybe she genuinely had to leave for something? Calum may never know the truth about why she left the lunch table after talking to him cutting their conversation short. She was leaving this place for good soon. And he may never ever see her again.
