Mazie walked behind the waterfall, knocking an arrow. She stared at her target. Mazie then pulled the string back with her elegant and long fingers. She flicked the brown hair from her face and she adjusted the arrow. She let go. The arrow spun fast and moved faster. It hit a rabbit in the neck, it squealed and tried to run off but Mazie was already with her knife. She quickly killed it and ran home.
"Father, mother! I caught something!" Mazie announced while entering their little cottage.
Her father looked at her approvingly, "You can only learn to hunt by starting small." Mazie nodded and handed the rabbit to her mother.
"I know father, you've reminded me everyday... but when can I start catching REAL things!" Asked Mazie.
"All good things come in time. And... rabbits are real things!" He joked. She shook her head and rolled her eyes.
"You're father is right, Mazie. Rabbits are real life things. They can eat and have family, just like us..." Mazie's mother explained.
"Alright... anyway... Scar is coming back soon. I should go meet him by the cave..." She muttered.
"Ok... remember what I said..." Her mother started.
"Yes, don't bring him home!" She blurted while walking out the door.
