It's 5:36 am and you're wide awake.

You toss and turn, doing the best you can to salvage the 64 minutes of sleep you still have before your alarm goes off.

It's your first day at a new school and it would be best if you didn't show up with eye bags.

What seems like 10 minutes pass before you flip over again. The red glowing letters on your alarm clock read 6:01. You sit up in your bed and groan, finally having given up on trying to salvage precious sleep. You roll out of bed and switch on the lights. As soon as you do, black spots dance in your vision. You blink them out and stumble over to your closet.

Your mother ordered your uniform a couple days ago and put it in one of your drawers. You open them all and finally find it in the very last one. A pleated skirt, a polo and a cardigan with the school's logo embroidered. Basic.

You toss the clothes over your shoulder and onto your bed and grab a pair of socks from your underwear drawer. However, turning around and looking at your uniform, it looks small. Ridiculously small.

You scramble for the tag at the neck of the polo. XS. Gotta be a joke. You look at the tag on the skirt, XS too. Oh crap.

Your mother ordered you uniform two sizes too small. Of course she did. You put the ensemble on and you take a glance in the mirror. You look like you're coming straight out of an anime private school. And to top that, of course there was a problem with the moving agency; now the essentials you didn't pack in your suitcase only arrive after-tomorrow, so, no giant hoodie to cover everything up.

The skirt doesn't even try to cover your butt and the shirt doesn't button up over your chest, no matter how hard you try. You attempt tying the cardigan around your waist and that's minimal improvement, at least the skirt isn't freely flowing and exposing your underwear.

You groan and turn on your laptop. You pay a visit to your new school's website, open the uniform section and scan the page. "Inquire at the main office in case of inconveniences".

You look at your watch, if you leave in five minutes you can go get your morning coffee and a quick breakfast at the Starbucks around the corner, get a right-sized uniform, change and still be on time for your student-guided tour.

You jog down the steps and your mother is in the kitchen, staring at the toaster. Upon further inspection, you see that there are Eggo Waffles being heated up inside.

"Bye mom, I'm headed to school." She looks up at you and scans your outfit. "Y/N, what in the world are you wearing?"
"Oh, nothing mom, just my school uniform that you ordered two sizes too small!" her indignant gaze softens "Oh, I'm sorry honey, You can go by the office and--" "Yeah, I know. That's exactly what I'm doing." You scoff, staring at her for a second before walking out the door and slamming it behind you.
