Chapter 1: I thought I did
I thought I did.
I really thought so.So much I was willing to die for him. Then he was murdered. The pain of watching it almost killed me too. Ripped out my heart and made it chase him down.I really thought I loved him.
My name is Alejandra. I'm not Mexican. My mom just loved hispanic soap operas. I loved someone who was destined to die. And before you ask what his name was, don't. It would stir some good memories. I cant afford those anymore.
I can tell you the story, but thats it. The story. The only thing I won't mention is his name.
I was seventeen, young and beautiful. I went to a place. Somewhere my Grandfather had sent me since I was ten. It was a place for heroes. No, not Superman or Wolverine, but heroes none the less. I met him there. He showed up out of the blue one day.The first moment I saw him I knew he was trouble. I was right.
I was scheduled to be the next tour guide, so I showed him around.
"Do you not like me or something? You only are telling me the names of these places." He said.
"Look, I'm sorry. You just...your..." I mumbled.
"I get it, I'm 'uncomfortable' to be around. Mom said the same thing. So tell me more about you." He said.
"My name is Alejandra." I mumbled. He stared at me like i was supposed to say more. "Im one of the longest members here. We have... we are... special. We can't control our emotions, unless we are taught, thats why you ran here. You were attracted to our unsettled vibe. It is what you feel."
"I'm _____, _____ ______. My mom hated me, and i hated my step-dad. So i ran. Im from Boston, Massachusettes. I don't know why Nebraska was my first choice, it just was. I have always liked math, strangly enough, and committing crimes to get my mom's attention." He rambled on for the next two hours. It was entertaining.
