Everyone stood in shock, Mark forgetting everything that had happen for who knows how long was another blow. This was unfair, after all they went through, after all the trauma everyone endured these past years, why was this happening to then once more?

"Mark," Amelia was the first to speak, "What year are we?" She asked. "What's the last thing you remember?"

Mark looked around, he could see all of their worries in their faces, what was going on? As a doctor, he knew this couldn't be good, that this meant his head trauma was worse than what Callie had told him, that maybe, they didn't know the extent of it.

"It's 2011, why?" He answered. He knew he was wrong just by the faces his friends made, by Callie's sigh. "What year are we?" He asked, his voice still remaining calm but hints of panic escaping his throat.

Callie took his hand in his, Arizona doing the same. He needed the support, he would need it even more by the time they would tell him everything he knew but forgot. Every little devastating detail of the past seven years would crush him. He wasn't aware of it anymore, but in the space of the last few years, his whole life had changed. He had lost the love of his life, tried to get his love life back on track, but only failing, he had almost lost his daughter and best friend, he had lost Derek, he had learned that the love of his life had kept their children away from him, they had fallen back in love and created a new life together only for all of it to come falling down once more.

"It's 2018 Mark," Amelia said, as she came closer to him. A sad smile on her face, trying her best to make this news pass as easily as it could. "You were in a car crash, Lexie was with you, you almost didn't make it, but you're here and that's what you should focus on." She sat on his bed. "I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but even if you forgot it, you have a life. You'll need some help to get back where you were, it won't be easy and it might never happen, but you have the best support system to do so. We'll all be here with you, every single one of us will do our best to help you."

"I don't get it... how could I forget my life?" He looks at everyone in shock. Yes, they were different. Callie and Arizona looked older, Lexie had shorter hair and a prominent belly which he had just learned was where his child was growing. All of this seemed strange, how could he forget almost a decade of his life. "I need to see Derek, I have to talk to him."

"You need some rest, we'll talk more tomorrow and we'll establish a plan for you, okay? Now sleep some more, I'll be back to check up on you."

On that Amelia left, leaving the three women and Mark alone together.

"What's your last memory?" Callie immediatly asked.

"I was driving back home from your baby shower at the hospital. I got a call, and then nothing." Mark looked at Lexie, as though she was a divine apparition. "When I first woke up, I thought that's when I had the accident, now I'm lost. Where's the baby? I mean our kid."

"She's at school," Arizona answered smiling at him. "She's been coming here to see you almost daily. She couldn't wait for her daddy to wake up."

"So it's a girl?" He looked happy and sad at the same time, he had a daughter. A child he had seen grow since her very first moments on earth. At this time, he had no idea who she was, what she looked like or how much he really loved her. "What's her name?"
