25 - Welcome Back, Daddy

Baekhyun was back in the country again and met his girlfriend before he needed to fly to Hong Kong for the last Mnet Asian Music Awards. Exo was nominated for the whole group categories, along with BTS which meant that the two groups wouldn't be in the country for two days so they could attend the show.

It was the day of the show and Sumin was at Mr. Kangs shop to buy some snacks for her friends, who wanted to visit her after a long time. The three girls were all going to universities and had jobs, spending time together wasn't possible for the past months and they planned out one day to watch the award show together. For them, at least one day was able to meet their friend and they could catch up on the things they missed out.

After picking out her favorite snacks and drinks, she went to the cashier and gave Mr. Kang the money for her stuff. The old men grew close to Sumin as she always visited his shop in her free time, and she helped him out at days where he needed someone by his side.

Even then, when he turned sixty, he still stood in his shop and worked hard. Sometimes, Sumin would think about working for him but he didn't allow her that, he always told her that going to school was important. If he knew what happened to her, he would surely be sad and do anything for her to cheer up, but luckily he knew nothing, and it was better like that. 

For her luck, he just talked about random stuff with her on that night as Sumin packed up her things. "If you ever need help, you can always call me, okay Mr. Kang?" The girl chuckled.

"Yes yes! But forget about that right now. They delivered us new Ramen noodles, you should try them!" He walked over to the shelf and tried to reach out for the large box but he sadly wasn't tall enough to get it down.

Sumin laughed and tried to help him but she was also too small. Groaning at her attempt, she tiptoed while her arm was stretched out to reach for the box but then, someone tall appeared next to her and reached for the top of the shelf.

"Ah, thank you." She smiled but it quickly faded away when she saw the guy who happened to help her. Sumin stared at him when he smiled lightly, making her shiver as he handed her a cup of the new Ramen.

"It has been a long time, Sumin." His voice gave her goosebumps and she quickly stepped away, trying to escape from the shop but Mr. Kang stopped her.

"Oh, this is Juhyun by the way! He's working here part-time." The old man patted his shoulder and grinned. "Juhyun, this is Sumin. She lives close to my shop and she always visits me."

"I know him pretty well. We went to the same school." Sumin mumbled out as her eyes were still glued on the guy to see that the smile faded away as he heard her quiet voice. 

Something was strange and he was confused.

Mr. Kang noticed how the line was getting longer on the cashier and he quickly made his way to continue on working. "Juhyun, please bring the chairs inside."

Sumin took her chance and escaped the small shop quickly but she was  followed by Juhyun closely. He walked slowly after her while his eyes were still on the girl as she held her bag tightly in her hand.

"Sumin, wait a second." Juhyun run up behind her and she stopped in her tracks. The girl wanted to leave but her legs decided otherwise. But still, she wanted to listen and hear him out; wanting to know what he had to say for the last time.

"What?" Sumin asked coldly as he appeared in front of her.

"How come you can talk normally around me?" Juhyun frowned when the girl  laughed and stepped away to leave him but he held her wrist tightly, giving her no chance this time.

"Mr. Kang is like a grandfather to me, and he's really nice. I didn't want to be rude in front of him." She stated and stared up at his dark eyes. She hated him so much and asked herself how calm she could actually talk to him after all what happened. If Jimin was here, he would've ripped him apart.
