After The Glade

Chapter 1

"I'm sorry! IM SO SORRY! I - I MINHO, I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE. EVERYDAY I SEE YOU WRITING HIM LETTERS BEFORE YOU GO TO BED, EVEY DAY I SEE YOU LOOKING OUT INTO THE DISTANCE HOPING THAT MAYBE YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO SEE THROUGH ALL THIS SPACE IN BETWEEN AND FIND NEWT, BUT I CANT LET YOU DO THIS ANYMORE. I DID IT! I - I KILLED HIM.. "

As he fished that sentence he gasped for air as if he were drowning. "I JUST CANT DO THIS ANYMORE I CANT STAND TO SEE YOU DO ALL THIS WHILE I KNOW THAT I AM THE REASON HES GONE, I AM THE REASON YOU'RE SUFFERING." Thomas swallowed his need of wanting to cry. He looked up to see minho's reaction, he knew Minho would be furious but all he saw was Minho starring at him. Thomas looked down and started crying again. He heard Minho stand up. he looked up and saw that Minho's eyes were pitch black, the veins in his neck starting to stand out. "get up shuck face!" Was all he said.

Thomas obediently stood up. He was still looking at the ground, afraid that if he looked at Minho or even thought about any good moments with him it would all wash away. Just as he was starting to pick up his gaze, he found himself on the floor gasping for air. he felt another pang in the stomach. Thomas knew there was going to be much more. He waited in pain. Crying. A minute passed. Two minutes. He looked up and he saw nobody there.

It's been two weeks since the last time Minho and Thomas had talked. Minho had done everything possible to avoid him.

"Minho, please." Thomas reached out his hand to touch Minho's shoulder. He was sitting outside leaning on what looked like a giant rock. Minho heard his voice, and grunted. He stood up and was starting to walk away.

"At least listen to me Minho! We can't continue avoiding each other, just listen.." He cried. His voiced kept cracking but to this point he didn't care if he didn't seem strong anymore.

"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST GET THIS THROUGH YOUR SHUCKING BRAIN THAT I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU!" His voice was so loud Thomas thought that the floor might've rumbled.

"Minho! Stop.. Stop, listen to me, I know - I know you hate me. I just.. I can't let this happen. I can't lose you too."

Minho stopped walking. He turned around hatred in his eyes. "What did you say?"

"I - I said I don't want to lose you too." Thomas looked down at the floor.

"Listen shuck face, you lost me the second you betrayed me."

"Betrayed you?" Thomas let out a small unnecessary laugh. This time he felt as if something had gotten inside of him and gave him courage. As if Newts presence was there making him the strong leader he was.

Minho ran towards Thomas. He pushed him with great force you would think that it would've taken a great amount of practice to push him that far. "YOU KILLED HIM! YOU KILLED HIM THOMAS! You killed him..."

"Minho, he begged me. He wrote this to me.." He handed him the paper Newt had given him the night when he pulled him over from the other gladers. "He trusted me with it."

Minho read the paper his hands trembling. The paper slipped out of his hands. He gasped for air and started crying. "Why? Why did he give this to you. Thomas, WHEN DID HE GIVE YOU THIS?!"

Thomas didn't answer.

"THOMAS! ANSWER ME SHUCK FACE!"

Thomas looked up at Minho, he saw something there more than anger. He was confused. A crease forming right above the middle of his eyebrows.

Thomas couldn't bring himself to say anything, he was too busy trying to figure out what had caused Minho to be so confused.

"Come with me right now! You clearly seem to be daydreaming about shucking with Brenda or something."

"What?" Thomas snapped out of his thoughts. Now he was the one that was confused, Minho had stopped being angry towards him in a split second. As if someone had hypnotized him and in a snap of a finger he forgot he was angry. Almost as if someone were controlling him.

"Where are we going?"

"Just follow me. Don't ask any questions."

Thomas thought he could hear sadness in Minho's voice.
