Chapter 23

Shawn's POV

I finish my show in a t-shirt covered in sweat. A series of compliments and thank you's are exchanged from my crew to me. I love the thrill of performing, but id still drop it all for her.

My phone buzzes one pocket and the message sender name gives me chills.

Teagan no... Please!

I bolt out of the venue int the pouring rain and rush down the street toward her house.

Come on Shawn....

I arrive at the street and see caleb rushing as well. I speed myself up. No way is he helping her. No.

I run full speed down the road to her house and make it to her door just before him. I shove open the door alarming her father but I disregard his stare. Her room is empty. Fuck!

"Where is she???? Where could she have gone??" Caleb asks her dad.

"I know." I state blankly and rush into the cold, pouring rain.

My legs burn. Shit this exercise... Kill me. Wait that's not supposed to happen.. We're preventing killing...

The park is dark with only a few street lights. A shadow sits underneath a tree curled up onto a broken bench.

Teagan...

"T!" She doesn't move even though I'm shouting.

I run up and shake her shoulders. She blankly stares at me through glossy eyes.

"Teagan. I love you. Please don't do this. I need you. Please. I need you more than anything, baby, please!"

She nuzzles her head into my chest and wraps her arms around my shoulders signaling for me to pick her up. I do as she pleases and plop down on the ground with her in my lap.

"You came to rescue me like Prince Charming." She whispers against the pounding noise of the rain.

"I'd always come to your rescue, my Princess."

She forcefully pulls me down to her and kisses me. It's a sensation I've missed and longed for. I push into her kiss as she does me.

A cliche kiss in the rain is all I needed: all I wanted.

"I love you, I'm so glad you're safe." I mutter when we stop.

"As do I, Prince. As do I..." She closes her eyes and lays against my chest, taking in my heartbeat while I take in hers.

Meanwhile at Teagans house:

"Where could she be?? Is he going to actually find her?"

"Shawn always finds her. He knows her better than anyone... Better than me."

"I know her."

"Caleb not like he does. Shawn is and will always be attached to Teagan in some way and I have no problem at all with that. He's an amazing person."

"He hurt your daughter, sir!"

"Caleb, give it a rest. She'll be ok. But I don't think she'll be part of your life anymore. It's her decision. But in the meantime, with all due respect... Get the hell out of my house and have a good night. I will have Shawn text you. Goodnight."
