"What do you mean, we're moving?!" Darien exclaimed. My parents shared a grin before my mother, Selice, replied.

"Your father was offered a job in the Grand City Celiminiam, isn't it glorious?"

"No it's not!" Darien said "I have a life here, and friends! We can't just move!" I put my hand on his shoulder to calm him down, an act I've been doing since we were little children in order to keep his moods in check. Darien breathed in deeply and leaned backwards in order to relax.

"If we move do I get a bigger bedroom?" Zeak, my little brother, asked. My father, Tankor, smiled.
"Sure, everything's bigger in Celiminiam." Zeak approved instantly, jumping up from his seat chanting "Bigger room, bigger room."

Darien continued to try and convince our parents how this move would be a big mistake. How different the city life would be compared to our small town. How our humble house keeps us from taking our privileges for granted.
I, on the other hand, was excited by the chance to start anew. My past fifteen years in this dull place had gone by in a blur of grey. My life so far consisted of a routine of work, eat and sleep an lonely school days where I would be shunned by my peers, the arts my only refuge.
I never fit in well here, the idea of a playful girl who prefers climbing trees right to the top rather than sitting silently all dressed up in the corner of the room makes people uncomfortable. They didn't know how to treat me. Instead, I entertained myself by painting, absolutely fascinated with colours and scenes, honing my skill as best as I could, and learning martial arts with my father- one of the best martial artists in the land.
The city of Celiminiam is a place of new beginnings and opportunity, the thought filled me with excitement.
