Present:
"I still can't believe I had a loss for words the minute she noticed I was talking to her" Calum says. "Can you like shut up about that it happened so long ago" Luke says. "I know you've been obsessing over talking to her since you were fifteen can't you just forget about it you haven't even seen the girl for years" Michael adds to what Luke says. "Maybe if it worked out the way I imagined it would have gone than I would be over it" Calum replies. "Can't you just try to stop thinking about it?" Ashton asks. "I've tried so many times, I don't know why mind just wants me to remember it for some reason I guess" Calum replies."So I was thinking I could go out tonight, would any of you like to come with me?" Michael asks his friends. "Of course I would" Luke replies. "I'm up for it" Ashton says. The three of them look towards Calum who was clearly not paying attention probably daydreaming about something. "Hello Calum!" Michael somewhat shouts startling Calum. "Sorry, what were we talking about again?" Calum asks now he's the one looking towards each of his three friends. "We're planning to go out tonight and we're wondering if you would like to come too" Ashton says. "Yeah sure whatever" Calum replies.
Night time comes quicker than normal or so it seems. Michael, Ashton and Luke are all ready to leave for their night out. Calum on the other hand I guess you could say he forgot about it. He is still relaxing by just playing some random game on his phone. His friends were now waiting for him in the night club. After fifteen minutes of waiting Ashton decided to text him.
Ashton: Cal where are you we've been waiting you for ages. Calum reads the text from his phone as it pops up in his notifications. Calum: Shit! I completely forgot be there in 10 mins. Calum replies he then rushes to get ready in ten minutes. He gets out of his house putting his shoes on halfway out the door. With five minutes left to reach the club. Luckily the club was quite close to his house. He didn't bother calling a taxi as he feared it may take its time to arrive making him reach much later then ten minutes after he hit send on that message he sent Ashton.
Ten minutes felt like ten hours for Ashton, Luke and Michael; but lets be honest here it was a bit more than ten minutes when Calum came almost running in to look for his friends. "So what did I miss?" He asks them. "Absolutely nothing we were waiting for you to arrive before we started partying" Michael says. "Oh that's sweet of all of you" Calum says to each of his friends. "Next time we ain't gonna wait this long for you though" Luke says. "Okay, I'm so sorry for keeping you guys waiting" Calum replies. "It's fine just try not to do it again" Ashton says.
"Now that we're all finally here let's party!" Michael exclaims. "Yay!" Luke says excitedly. "I'm gonna go order a drink" Calum says looking towards the direction of the bar. It doesn't take Calum long to notice he recognises the new bartender. The bartender just happens to be the girl he always wanted to get to know since he was fifteen. Calum is surprised to see her here as he's been coming to this club a lot, and she's never been working here when he had came here before, so he guesses that maybe she just started working here.
"Hi" he says to her. "Hello" she says. "So I come here a lot and I've not seen you working here before, so I'm guessing it's your first day?" He asks her. "Well yeah it is" she replies. "How's it going so far Valley?" He questions reading her name off the tag she's wearing. "It's going fine" she says. Her eyes look darker than they were when she was seventeen. She just seems more lost than she was back then too. While talking to people she just ends up looking anywhere else but at them. It felt as if like her eyes are a hammer and they would smash and break someone if she looked in their direction. "So what would you like to order?" She asks. "Oh umm... today's special" he replies suddenly forgetting his drink order for some reason. "Sure" she doesn't even look at the drink while she pours it. "Now that's talent" Calum says as saw she didn't spill a drop of the drink while pouring it. "Haha thanks" she says still not looking directly at him. She passes him the drink and he goes back to where his friends are.
"Took you long enough" Michael says. "Sorry, I was talking to the bartender she's new here" Calum replies. "Oh okay" Luke says. "Since when have you been so social?" Ashton asks. "I don't know I just wanted to make her feel more welcome you know" Calum replies. He obviously doesn't want to tell them that it's her. The girl he now knows as Valley. The girl from their highschool who he always wanted to talk to. "Ooh seems like someone's got a crush" Luke says. "Um... no just because I'm nice to someone it doesn't mean I have a crush on them" Calum replies his tone slightly annoyed.
His friends didn't realise it yet, but Calum's sure that they will really soon. He doesn't want to tell them as they already complain that he talks too much about her.
Then Ashton goes to order a drink. He recognises her too but doesn't say much to her. He just tells her his drink order and waits. She passes him his drink. He then goes back to his friends. "Guys I know why Calum took so long while he was ordering his drink?" Ashton says. "Well I know why too Ash" Calum replies. "Of course you do Cal but Luke and Mikey don't" Ashton responds. "Ooh do tell I wanna know" Michael says. "She's the bartender" Ashton says. "You mean the girl he always wanted to have a proper conversation with?" Luke asks. "Yeah her" Ashton says. "It makes sense now" Michael replies.
