Max walked among the tall dark trees. Her hand outstretched, fingers brushing against the bark ever so lightly. The wind was cool against her skin, underneath the dark clouds in the grey sky. She stared into the endless array of trees which alligned the premises around her home. Like a wall surrounding a territory unknown to her, a world which could not be seen from the outside. A world hidden by nature. One so intriguing that it edged her to enter the unknown. Saying Max was curious was an understatement, she wanted to wonder beyond the trees, she wanted to see every inch of the hidden portrait painted with lush green clots of color on its rich brown canvas. The trees writing something, unbeknownst to her on the skyline.
As soon as enough inspiration was gathered, Max spun around and ran towards the backdoor. Her bare feet thudding across the wooden floors as she bolted up the stairs towards the attic. On entering, there were blank canvases of all sizes lamely leaning against the walls, paint scattered all over the translucent plastic that was layed out on the floor. A few paint brushes lay here and there. A single window outlooks the backyard. Max glanced at the spot by the tree line where she previously stood and then turned her full attention to the bare canvas positioned in front of her. Her hand lifted to allow her brush and the paper to connect and instantly Max was off to a world of her own. Nothing existed besides her and the paint on that canvas.
