millies hair shutters into her defined face as she leans over on the emerald green pool table. finn eyes the young girl from across as she is concentrated onto the wooden stick that is perched in between her thumb and index finger.
"we don't got all day brown" he nonchalantly says while looking away innocently. her back starts to ache from being in this apprehensive position. she rolls her honey golden eyes refocusing onto the game that is sat in front of her.
a swift hand movement later, she retracts the stick and hits the striped ball ever so softly as it stops right in front of the drop into the basket. "you've got to be shitting me" she leans the stick against the table while cursing out of anger.
"it's all in the wrist" finn shrugs as a smug smirk is placed onto his mildly chapped lips. "like you could do any better" he raises his brows in satisfaction looking her petite figure up and down. "is that a challenge?" he gives her an astonished look circling the table while doing so.
"impress me" she leans her back against the bar which others are sitting at enjoying other people's company or drinking alone. "prepare to be mind blown" he sends her a sly wink while focusing his eye on the solid colored ball.
"god you're such a dork" millie snickers touching her roseate tinted lips. "at least i'm a dork that can actually play pool" he slyly remarks making millies mouth go agape.
"fucking dick" she whispers under her breath making his brows rise in amusement. "i thought you loved me millie brown" he rests his hands on his hip watching as her cheeks turn a fiery red.
"when did i say i l-loved you?!" she crosses her arms defensively scoffing as well. "you didn't have to say it. just the way you look at me, hug me, kiss me. it's all laced with love" he focuses his attention back on the game

"can you hurry it up a little?" joe murmured. "i'm going as fast as i can. this is art. you can't rush art" a light sheen of perspiration broke out over jaedens forehead soaking the end of his short bangs."oh fuck me.." joe says under his breath pulling back on jaedens broad shoulders aiming at the lock with a hand held pistol, knocking it clean off of the metal door handles. "maybe try working smarter not harder" he flashes him a sarcastic smile knocking into his slim figure purposely.
his black army boots make harsh echos throughout the deserted building. "yeah? maybe try not to be dick next time" his harsh comments still had little to no affect on joe as he swept his hair out of his face.
"look, let's just get this investigation over with. the longer you have a hissy fit the longer we stay here together" his thin lips let out a low scoff eyeing the taller man out of disgust.
mr brown has ordered to come to the last place she was seen, which was this laboratory of course. everyone was on the edge of their seats back home.
millie's father was furious, cursing out and blaming his employees for not being responsible. when they all know that he should've been taking care of her. instead of commanding and hiring people to do so.the ear piercing sound of alarms carry on throughout each and every hallway that are poorly lit due to this building being abandoned on such short notice. scatters of notes and papers are sprawled out on the industrial floors easy enough for you to slip and fall if you weren't paying attention.
"guess they wanted to evacuate so fast no one cared to clean this place up.." joes splintered hands wipes off droplets of yellow almost brown rusted water that was dripping from the busted air vents that hung above them.
they were both so intrigued by their surroundings they almost forgot to locate her last exact location. joe eyes jaeden purposely looking between him and his binder full of documents regarding her disappearance.
"what?" he asks defensively eyes his taller structure. "her location! millie! the whole reason we're here dipshit!"
his harsh voice echos in this secluded staircase as he snatches the binder into his own grasp.his rough fingertips flip through the hard index pages until he skims down a page as his eyes light up at a specific note. third floor hallway to the left.
he whispers that under his breath loud enough for his 'partner' to hear him correctly. their feet take them up each step making a louder noise each time it stomps on the tile.
jaedens thoughts ramble on inside of his brain as it is completely silent amongst the two. "maybe it was a good thing ms. brown has disappeared" he stuttered out as joe gave him a look of surprise and also disgust.
"what the hell is that supposed to mean?! she could be dead for all we know! tell me how the fuck that's a good thing" his eyes overcast into a dark shade making the hallway loud as it has ever been in years with his yelling.
"just think about it joe! mr brown never took care of his daughter, he always paid someone to cook for her, study with her, to even be friends with her! he never gave her the fucking light of day to even think about her! as long as she isn't being neglected by that poor excuse of a father i think it'll be better then the whole 15 years she has spent with that man" his partners face softens only for a millisecond until it turns back into its stone hard form.
"yeah well that's your opinion. he may have not been in his daughters life that much, but at least she was being protected. she had a roof over her head, food for every three meals, she had a good life. just not a good father. i'm not going to stop til i find her and bring her back home. i'd much rather have her at home with no interaction with her father, then out in the sick world with some asshole who took her. god forbid she isn't alive"
he wipes his nose after staring into jaedens emotionless eyes until he walks farther up the stairs leaving his partner staring at the dusty wall. he sighs running a hand through his hair soon following behind him.
