18 | epilogue

to my disappointment, summer break was over.

unpacking after the trip to america and canada was tiresome, and getting ready for school the next day was no better.

i sighed at the familiar sight of my school as i walked towards the gates. a sign near the gates read 'cheongdam high school'.

"minjju!" chaeyeon tackled me in a hug as soon as she saw me in the classroom.

"jjaeyon!"

"tell me everything you did over break," chaeyeon jumped up and down, excited to hear my stories.

"what? i sent you messages while i was on the trip though," i said.

"tell me more! like, a something really interesting that happened," chaeyeon begged.

i thought for a moment.

"uh-"

"were there any cute guys in the tour group?" chaeyeon blurted.

"-what?"

why was it that i immediately thought of seungmin?

"i'll take that as a yes?" chaeyeon said.

"wh--i didn't even say-"

"your face says it all," chaeyeon chuckled. "it's getting red."

"it's because it's summer and it's scorching hot!" i defended myself.

"what's his name?" chaeyeon wouldn't give up.

"chaeyeon i'm serious-"

"ooh you got new earrings!" chaeyeon peered at my ears.

"ah--yeah," i smiled, remembering that i was wearing the music-note earrings seungmin gave me.

"everyone! welcome back to school!"

i went silent at the voice of the teacher.

"i hope you enjoyed your summer break," he said. "but now it's time to get back to studying!"

everyone groaned at the thought of projects, homework, tests...

it was lunch time, and chaeyeon and i rushed to the cafeteria.

we received our lunch and carried our trays to the table we usually sat with our other friends.

"minjoo chaeyeon!" hwang yeji motioned for us to sit down. "did you hear?"

"hear about what?" chaeyeon asked.

"there's a new student in class 3-1!" yeji explained. "apparently he's really good-looking."

"oh?"

"yeah. oh right, minjoo, how was your trip?"

"it was really fun-"

"she said there were a lot of cute guys on the tour-"

i blocked chaeyeon's mouth quickly, "i did not!"

yeji laughed as chaeyeon struggled to talk through my hand covering her mouth.

"mmh! mnmmmph!" chaeyeon started pointing at the entrance to the cafeteria, so i removed my hand. "that's him!"

"huh?"

"yeah! the new student," yeji said, looking at the door.

i followed her gaze and saw-

haha i was bored so here is a very short and terrible epilogue please forgive me i bet y'all hate me now lmao also i hope you noticed itzy's hwang yeji made a short appearance omg i love her she's such a queen AND I WANT TO GO TO STRAY KIDS' WORLD TOUR but i'm broke oof time to go cry goodbye~
