Bright white light...glass walls...hard cot...hands and feet tied down...unknown area...the light is too bright...

These were my thoughts as I slowly regained consciousness. I was in a glass room that was flooded with light from an overhead light. My wrists and ankles ached from being tightly bound for a awhile. My head felt incredibly heavy and as I lifted it up slightly from the cot I noticed shadows through the glass walls.

"Hey!" I hear my voice croak out. I cleared my throat and called again. I hadn't really expected a response, so when a voice said, "Hi." I was overjoyed to hear someone else.

"Hi, my name is Tess. Where are we?"

"Tess?"

There was something about that voice that sounded familiar but between the drugs that were still clouding my thoughts and the person's single word responses I could not place the voice.

"Yeah that's me. Now can you tell me were I am."

"Tess, its me! Sam!"

I had jerked up when I heard my best friend's name only to be pulled back down to the hard cot by the bindings.

"Sam is that really you! I was supposed to find you and rescue you. " I tugged at my bindings. "That plan really didn't work, though."

"Yeah, no kidding. Why on earth did you get caught!?!?"

"I was going to find you. I just didn't think that the Feds would be still in the neighborhood. So how long have I been out?"

I saw the Sam shadow move closer to where the head of my bed was.

"Well two days ago I saw these people bring a body in to your room, that was probably you. And I have been here a whole day before you. So yeah."

"Oh, I thought it would have been only a few hours or something. Another question, why am I tied up and you aren't?"

"I don't know. I guess they want to monitor you for a bit. They will let you go for lunch though. It think..."

After that I drifted in between being asleep and awake. I woke up to Sam tapping the glass wall in between us.

"Tess wake up. There is someone coming."

Sure enough the second that she finished talking my door opened and a woman dressed all in black. She was tall, thin, yet she had a face that meant business.

She apporaached my bed, and sat down on its edge.

"Welcome to your new home." She said in an icy tone. The women reached over me to undo the cuffs on my hands. The second one if my hands was free I tried to land a punch, only to have the woman grab my fist.

"Well it is good to see that you have some fight in you, it will make things more interesting."

She gave my fist a painful squeeze before wrenching my arm back and popping my arm out of its socket.

I bit my tongue to keep from screaming, but when the guard applied pressure on my arm, I couldn't stop myself from letting out a muffled scream.

"You better get used to screaming, we have several 'tests' lined up for you. I trust that you can undo the remaining restraints."

Without another word the woman left the room, leaving me with alone in the room.

I tried to undo the remaining restraints but my arm hurt too much when I tried to move it.

I gave up, and lay back down on my cot.

"So you met Guard. Isn't she the best person ever!" Sam called from the other cell.

"Yeah, she is great. I think we're going to be great friends."

I lay in my bed until Guard reappeared calling out for everyone to get up for lunch.

"I see you haven't got out of bed yet."

"You know it is surprisingly hard to undo three buckles with no hands."

Guard sighed and came up to me. I thought she was going to undo the buckles but instead she sat me up. I was going to ask her what she was doing, but then there was a blinding pain in my shoulder.

"There now you can get out of bed."

I sat dazed for a bit before finally undoing the reaming straps.

After I released myself, I got out of my cell and stood in line with the other prisoners.

The line began to move and off we went to another part of the compound.
