A van pulls up next to me. I back away a little bit.
"hi there stranger where you going." the driver said. i look around the car it looks like a family. A Dad that is driving a mom in the passage seat and two boy in the back.
"California." i said as i look back at the driver.
"well where headed up state we can give you a ride to the bus station or you can save money and ride with us till we get to where we are going." the woman said in the passenger seat.
"i actually don't have enough money for a bus i was hoping someone would pick me up." i said being the care free person i am.
"well get in." the woman said very happily. I get in the van next to one of the two boys.
"thank you so much I am Abigail." i told everyone in the car.
"well Abigail you are very welcome. I am Lisa this is my husband Gerard the two boys back there the one next to the window is Kevin and the one next to you is Jake." the mom said to me
"So California. why brings you there?" Gerard asked
"I want to travel the American and hopefully the world. I want to start my journey in California." i said
"oh that's fun. If you don't mind me asking how old are you Hun?" Lisa asked
"i don't mind. I am 16." i said she quickly turns to me
"what about your family and school." she asked.
"I'm an orphan and the workers there tough me and did a terrible job." i said
"so you just left?" Kevin said
"yeah basically the workers trade my terribly. i didn't eat for days. one of them locked me in a room. i fell bad leaving the little ones but there not me they will stay." i said
"i am sorry. Hey how much clothes do you have with you.?" Lisa turns to me and said
"not much a few shirts and a few pants. why?" i asked.
"just wondering." she says. She looks at Gerard.
"i know." she says. it just look that look and he knows what to do.
"is there something i should know?" i asked hopping it was nothing bad.
"we have a little surprise for you." Lisa said while smiling. i am getting a little nervous. i have no idea what is about to happen.
