Chapter 4: Starting school

A/n: this takes place before 'the bologna incident' so you and Sal are still 15 in this part

You woke up to the alarm blaring at you. You groaned as you realized it was your first day of school. You rolled out of your comfortable bed and made your way to the bathroom, brushing your teeth and putting your hair into a bun. 

You walked back into your room and pulled a black sweater on and jean, Throwing on your shoes and grabbing your bag. You grabbed your keys on your way out and shut the door as you made your way to the elevator. 

You arrived at the bus stop and spotted Larry and Sally. You smiled and stood next to the duo. "Good morning" you smiled. "Good morning (Y/n). Are you excited for your first day?" Sal asked, fixing his pigtails. "I'm a little nervous but yeah other than that I'm excited" You said, gripping the straps of your bag. "It'll be fine, you can meet our other friends" Larry said, stuffing his hands into his pockets. You nodded your head as the bus arrived. 

You stepped on the bus and head to the back with Sal and Larry, sitting with Sal and next to the window. You noticed some looks at you but chose to ignore it. You leaned over the Sal and asked in a whisper "why is everyone staring?" "Because mine and Larry's group are called "Outcast" so were not liked very much " He whispered back. "Thats stupid" You said with a straight face. "If they have a problem then they can say it to my face" You huffed and leaned against the window. 

Sal chuckled and nudged you. "give it time and they'll leave you alone. It's only cause your new that they are staring" He said. You nodded and ignored the stares for the rest of the bus ride. Listening to music along with Sal, who had offered and earphone to you, seeing as you looked bored.

Larry had fallen asleep against the window across from You and Sal, making you both smile. As you saw the school get closer your stomach did flips. Sal seemed to notice as he tugged on your shirt. "hey, I'll help you out today" he said as he stood up with the other kids to get off the bus. You and Larry followed after him as he Led you to the office. "I'm gonna head to my locker" Larry said, Sal nodded and led you to the principles office. You knocked and waited for the door to open.

The principle opened the door and smiled. "You must be (Y/n) (L/n). Correct?" He asked. You nodded your head. "Great, come in and we'll get you situated. Thank you Sally for bringing her" The principle said, receiving a 'no problem' from Sal. 

After receiving your locker combination and schedule you met up with Sally and Larry at their lockers. "Seems, were neighbors" You said, trying to open your locker but groaned when you failed. "here" Sal said as he took the piece of paper and opened your locker with ease. "Thanks" You said and threw your bag into the small locker. 

"Who do you have as a first period teacher?" Sal asked. You looked down at your paper. "Science" You said. Larry smiled "I do too, I'll show you to the class after we eat breakfast" He said as the three of you made your way to the cafeteria. You looked around as you sat down with the duo, soon other people came and sat along with you guys.

"who is the new girl?" asked A female with gray hair. "This is (Y/n), She just moved here and lives in the apartments like we do" Sal said, as he unbuckled the bottom of his mask to eat. You could faintly see scars there. "Cool, I'm Maples" She said and held her hand out. You smiled and shook it, she quickly looked at your arms. "whoa, you ok dude?" she asked. "oh yes, I was in an accident before i came here" You said, giving a faint smile. "well, at least your ok" She said. You nodded and met the rest of the gang and they happily accepted you into their group.
