Mazie looked across the fire and at the Neko called Paisley. She then looked down at the the stained bandages bound around her waist. "I don't get it... what's your deal? You want to leave this place or are you just a demonic girl that is overly selfish?"
Paisley looked at her, her red eyes giving Mazie a horrible feeling in her gut. "That's personal business. He'll tell you once we get there."
"Who's this HE everyone is talking about? It's annoying. Is he human? Or is he gonna kill us all within seconds?" She growled, petting Scar as his tail wagged.
"I can't tell either of you. It's best that way, trust me. As you can tell, I know what I'm doing. Plus, you'd be too scared to continue if I decided to tell you." Paisley warned, flicking her tail in annoyance.
"I'm still gonna ask repeatedly, if you were smart you would already know that. Wouldn't you?" Mazie snapped.
"I know, and if YOU were smart you would stop asking about it. As I said before, it's better for you." She muttered, throwing more wood into the fire. Mazie snorted and stood up quickly. "Whatcha doin' Maz?"
"Gonna go grab the food..."
"Whatever, make sure you get all of it." Paisley smiled. She nodded and grabbed it all from the bag.
Mazie walked back with the food. "What do you think happened to my village...?"
"Well..." she paused, "I'm guessing they all died, including your parents..."
Mazie held back some tears. "They couldn't be... it was just a fire...!"
"Not really... hate to tell ya... but it was more than a stupid fire. I'm sure after you meet him we can all go see."
"Can we just check now...? Everything would be over by now..."
"NO! We can't! Not even your dog can! Unless you want your organs ripped from your body I would suggest not!" Paisley cried, her eyes tearing up.
"What...? Did you loose someone... I'm sorry if you did. Cause' I lost someone too..." She comforted.
"Yes... it wasn't anyone you would know, but I know what those... things are doing," She cried, setting a hand on Mazie's shoulder. Scar nuzzled Paisley. "Thanks..."
"Can we just forget about this? You told me not to go... I said too much."
"Yeah, let's just eat. You guys are probably starving!" She sniffed, wiping away the tears with a quick hand. "Want a full rabbit or smaller?"
"Full, so would Scar," Mazie replied happy to finally eat. Paisley smiled and gave Scar a full rabbit, watching him eat it within a few minutes.
"Here, Maz," Paisley said, giving Mazie the satchel. She nodded, looking inside.
"A map...? Is this where we're going? A so called dragon den?" She laughed.
Paisley swallowed nervously. "Yeah! I mean we are going there... what's wrong with a dragon den?"
"Paisley, dragons aren't real! They're only used for myths and metaphors!" Laughed Mazie, talking another bite of her rabbit.
Paisley nervously laughed, "Yeah, I know it sounds stupid! But hey, we can't change the name!"
Mazie nodded, putting the map back. "Well, I'm getting tired! About time for some sleep!"
"Yeah, we can sleep in the cave," Paisley nodded as they all walked into the cave.
They both found a spot in the cave and would lay down to sleep. "Night, Paisley... hope we can continue on our adventure tomorrow!"
"Yeah... sleep well!" Paisley nodded, a smile forming on her face as she drifted off into a sleep. Mazie gave a quick giggle as she purred quietly. She, herself laid a arm over her wolf as she fell asleep to the sound of the waterfall.
