Mazie woke when Paisley was gently shaking her shoulder. "You up? We gotta start on our trip soon..." Paisley said, helping Mazie back onto her feet. She nodded, waking up Scar as well.
Mazie walked outside, putting her hair up in a ponytail. "Do you know where my satchel is? I didn't see it in the cave..." she asked.
"Yeah, Scar has it..." Paisley answered, pointing to Scar, who has the satchel hanging from his mouth. Mazie nodded and sat by the fire Paisley made.
"You know, we could get through this twice as fast if we didn't have to build a fire for every meal..." Mazie said, petting Scar's ears.
"I realize that, but we'll build fires for mornings and nights. Only because it's colder then," she shrugged. Paisley set a few sticks in the fire.
"Makes sense..." admitted Mazie, holding a blanket over her shoulders. Paisley shook her head and walked over, fixing the blanket so it wouldn't continue to fall off.
"Sorry if this makes you feel childish... I just can't stand it..." she said, sitting next to her.
"I wouldn't mind it... if you wouldn't have ripped it twice..." she laughed. Paisley giggled as she handed a rabbit leg to her.
Mazie finished early and waited patiently, playing with a rock.
"We can talk you know... I'm not all boring and brutal!" She offered.
"I understand that," she responded, "I'm just... not used to others."
"Makes sense, I've spent much time alone. Just to me, I want to talk after all that time."
"Yeah... I can see that! And, honestly... why did you help me fix the blanket?" She asked, setting the rock aside.
"I couldn't take you messing with it so much... it bothers me," Paisley laughed, setting the rabbit bone on the log, "And... we're friends now, I want to help." They smiled as Paisley stood up. Mazie stood up after her.
She stepped forward and hugged Paisley, wrapping the blanket around her too.
"Thanks!" She smiled, giving the blanket back to her.
   "Eh... I have a few."
"Should we get going? I'm getting jittery."
