Grace Preston

It was time for the talk with Lexi. I know she’s going to be difficult about the whole date thing but I have to convince her. I didn’t know Mason very well but from the way he talked about Lexi yesterday, I knew his feelings were honest.

I had invited myself to hangout with Lexi since the girl didn’t have the decency to ever call me or invite me over. I rung the doorbell and waited for her. After ringing the bell for four more times she finally opened the door.

“Gee, chill. “ Lexi said opening the door.

“What took you so long?” I asked. I bet she wasn’t doing anything important.

She shrugged.“I was watching supernatural.”

I raised an eyebrow. “You could have opened the door and then watched it.”

“Nah, I didn’t feel like getting up when the interesting part was going on.” She said taking out a bucket of Ben and jerry’s and walked upstairs. I sighed and shook my head at her careless behavior but followed her nonetheless.

As we entered her room, she sat on the bed cross legged and started digging in the ice cream. I sat too wondering how to start the conversation. I can’t directly ask her if she would go out with Mason, she would say no flat out. I’d have to indirectly go to that topic and then convince her somehow. I coul-

“Spit it out!” Lexi’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Huh?”

“Just say whatever is going inside your mini-sized head.” Man, this girl knew me well.

“Cameron’s ignoring me.” I said spitting out the first thing that came to my mind. Well, this was constantly on my mind but right know I had something more important to do.

She gave me a sarcastic look. “Feel lucky.”

I knew telling her about Cameron ignoring me wasn’t the right thing to do. She already didn’t like him and this would just prove her theory that all guys are same.

“No Lex, there is some reason.” I sighed. “Forget it.”

I could feel the sadness settling in but I pushed it away quickly. I heard Lexi sigh.

“I know you really like him but if the reason is serious then you will have to understand it Grace and let him go. You don’t have a choice. And if the reason is something stupid and he too has feelings for you which I think he has, he’ll come back to you eventually.” She said. Lexi had a way with words; she’d always know what to say to make you feel better instantly.
