Silent dreams awaken me.

The fear that courses through my veins.

Empty as they flow into my heart.

White roses stained with blood.

Petals wilt and collide with tears in the puddle.

Crying, while bleeding my life away.

Screams can’t chase away the hate.

Rueful whispers can’t entice the lost love.

A dispute settled by a drop of life.

A gun aimed duefully at an enemy.

A sword hatefully brandished at your love.

A dying breath heard from only one.

Do you look on as a witness,

As light slowly leaves a pair of eyes?

Or do you fight to remain awake?
