Third Person POV:

Dinah walks through the sliding automatic doors of Mercy Miami Hospital and quickly pulls her hair up into a high ponytail, letting her long blonde hair slide slickly out of her hands. She hasn't seen Ally since the night she was sick, she hasn't even heard from her. Pulling her phone out of her jean pockets, she continues to walk towards the locker room. She checks her phone for any texts from the short brunette, but there's nothing other than Twitter notifications. Her chest rises and falls slowly as her shoulders slouch while she thinks about the girl. She changes into her scrubs and begins her day.

It's her first day being able to perform surgery after her incident with the alcohol that led to a broken arm. She shakes her head at the thought, but smiles when she realizes that she gets to operate once again. She walks down the halls with a clipboard carrying the information of Dr. Normani Kordei. Mindlessly wandering down the halls until she finds room B108, she stops at the door, taking a deep breath calmly. She feigns a smile and walks into the room, meeting a chocolate skinned girl with breathtaking features.

"Hello, Dr. Kordei, I am Dr. Hansen."

"Hey." The girl doesn't give much of a reply, seeming to be shy as she greets Dinah.

"So, from what these charts say, you were in a car accident during your car ride to work and you broke your femur in four pieces? Is that correct?"

"Yes." Dinah gives her a sincere smile and walks closer to her.

"Not much of a talker?" Dinah tries to get to know her patient a little bit more as she examines the impacted thigh.

"I usually am, but I'm not feeling too hot. I feel overheated and I have a sharp pain on my right side." Dinah's eyes widen and she rushes to Normani's side.

"I'm gonna press down here slightly and you tell me if it hurts and how badly." Dinah gently presses down on the right side of Normani's abdomen with two fingers.

"Oh, fuck. That's fucking painful." Dinah quickly grabs a thermometer and checks Normani's temperature. It reads 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Dinah pages Lauren quickly as she informs Normani that she's going to need to get an appendectomy.

Lauren runs through the halls, dodging people left and right. She's not the one to be messed with and can seem rather cold, but when it comes to patients, she acts fast and gives her all to make sure they're going to be okay. She soon arrives at the room and sees Dinah and Normani panicked.

"Dr. Hansen, what's wrong?" Lauren starts to examine Normani. Sweaty, flushed, her dark brown eyes are squinted with pain. Normani, however, notices the beautiful Latina and her heart starts to race, but that could also be the fact that she can die at any possible moment.

"Dr. Jauregui, it seems as though her appendix is going to burst if we don't get her in the O.R. as soon as possible." Lauren nods and unlocks the wheels on Normani's bed. She then pages all of her interns to the O.R., aside from Dinah.

"Alright, Dr. Kordei, hang on tight. Grab the other side, and let's go, Dr. Hansen."  They run, pushing the bed along side them as Normani tries to keep herself together. They get to the prepped O.R. and scrub in as quick as they can. The assistant nurses lift Normani up onto the operating table and start dosing her with anesthesia. The interns finally arrive one by one and three of them are called up to operate, while the others are instructed to watch. Lauren's heart slams against her rib-cage as she realizes that this girl doesn't have long until her appendix ruptures.

"Hand me a scalpel. There's no time to mark the area, we have to go in quick. Dr. Hansen, let's do this."

A few hours later, Normani is back in her room and is still knocked out from the anesthesia. Lauren's heart glows as she walks into the room once again. She told Dinah to go on lunch and that she'd watch over Normani. It might seem kind of creepy, but to her, it felt just right. She closes the door gently and admires Normani.
