8- The Truth

Jimin's POV
I felt all of the color drain out of my body. My eyes widened as I looked at the tiny green leaf in Tae's hand, everything around me froze. I looked up at my froends slowly circling around me, looking at the leaf, then at me with confusion.

"Jimin, why was there a leaf on you? Tell us! Now." Namjoon growled.

"I-um... I d-don't know how it g-got there?" I stuttered out in fear.

"Jimin I don't like it when you lie." Namjoon crossed his arms, looking into my eyes.

"I-I'm not-"

"Jimin!"

"Okay! Fine I'll tell you but, I can't here. It's too risky. I'll explain everytbing after this class at the moon cave." I turned around and started writing the lesson on the board as the class slowly filtered into the room.

After class, at the cove
I lifted the heavy rock and let my friends into our secret cave. My arms starred shaking because of the weiggt so I quickly dropped the rock and swam inside. I pulled myself out of the water and onto the cave's ledge, flipping my fins in the water as I sat.

"Jimin, tell us about the leaf." Jin looked at me with stern eyes, I could see the small flicker of anger behind his stare.

"Okay well... after the big lecture, I went to play with the dolphins and they brought me to the land. II saw the prwtty beach and I couldn't help myself! I had to swim to it, I felt a pull towards it. Then a fairy came up feom behind me and we started talking. He's really nice! His wings are big and magnificent, he has an amazing singing voice too! I also might have been going back there everyday when I have free time to be with him. Please don't be mad at me!" I stared at the water, not able to look at them.

"Jimin, you know what can happen to you if you get caught. Those fairies will manipulate you and put you in a glass case! You won't be able to see that magic mermaid boy if you two get caught. Why would you risk your life, your freedom, for some manipulating fairy?" Tae looked at me and grabbed my hand. I smiled and squeezed his back.

"Some creatures do crazy things for love."

"Jimin?"

My heart stopped beating wgen I heard his honey voice. I whipped my head around, forgettong the other mermaids in the cave. What I saw were those chocolate brown eyes staring at me in shock. I opened my moith to try and say something but all I could squeeze out was a small...

"J-jungkookie?"
