it was a typical school day. i woke up at 7:25 like i do everyday.

i tied my curly brown hair into my classic "kali b. bun" and put on a pair of leggings, a weekend shirt, and vans. "KALI GET YOUR ASS DOWNSTAIRS YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE!" my mom yelled from the kitchen. wow! 8:45 already? time is flying quick! when i got to school, i walked into the gym (because school started at 9:30 and i got here early so i wait in the gym) and sat with my two best friends maya and livi. everyone likes us because we're really quirky and really goofy. "hey kale" livi and maya said in unison. they're so in sync  because they're twins, but they don't look alike! kale is my nickname that everyone calls me. it's kinda annoying but it's whatevs. "hey" i said as i sat down. right when i was putting down my backpack and lunchbox, someone grabbed them and threw them at the administrator, Ms. Thomas. "DELANY WHY DID YOU DO THAT?" i yelled. "shut up stupid head!" she exclaimed and then turned around and laughed with her groupies, gaby and macey. delany, or D.D as her friends called her, was the resident mean girl at the school. she always made fun of everyone else because she was more quirky than  them. "don't pay attention to her. she's just jealous of you" livi and maya said at the same time. let me explain more about them. livi has one side of her hair dyed platinum blonde and the other side dyed black. shes slim thicc and always wears long sleeved striped shirts under her t shirts and doc martens. she has 600k followers on her tik tok page because she's super goofy and quirky. maya  dressed in skirts, shorts, and mom jeans; usually paired with air force ones or vans. she was basically a beauty guru with 200k subscribers on her "maya's beauty" youtube channel. she's dating judah. you're right guys. let's go to class. we headed to art class and took our seats at the back of the room. we were getting unpacked when i looked up and saw someone... my heart started beating out of my chest. who was THAT? he was tall, with tanned skin and short brown hair. my dream guy! i was completely in love until i noticed his shoes... old, ugly moccasins. "that's a turn off" i mumbled to myself. but nonetheless, i had found my new crush. he walked up to the teacher's desk and said "good morning ms. fisher! i love your new painting". he was nice too!! after staring at him out of the corner of my eye for a few minutes, i turned to my friends. "who's that guy over there?" i said as i gestured in his direction. livi and maya looked at each other, deciding whether or not they were both going to speak. i guess they decided 'no' because only maya spoke this time "that's marco gagliano, he's the total package. livi wrinkled her nose in distaste. "why the face?" i asked. "i don't know.i guess i don't see it". she said. how could she not see how hot he is!?! "i guess he's not for everyone" i said. although i was still upset about his shoes, i decided to go interact with him. "i'll be right back" i said, getting out of my seat...
