It was all over every television channel, radio station, and newspaper. The government had made an announcement that due to the extreme over population of the plant they will be taking matters into their own hands and terminate the problem. While watching the news on the TV the reporter explained that every other month a military group will come into a state and travel through it “terminating” people over the age of 40 and people between the ages of 15 and 20. And if you have a child under the age of 15 and you’re over the age of 40 they’d be “terminated” as well.
I didn’t know what to say, my family and I where all in complete shock. We all just sat in our living room for about 30 minutes, not knowing what to say to each other. It wasn’t like there was anything we could do. We were all doing to be killed. “At least we’ll all be together when it happens”, my dad said as if the statement was supposed to make us feel better about the fact that we were going to die. My little brother was crying now. He was only 10. Our mother was trying to comfort him, but her soothing word weren’t going to help, nothing was.
The killing was going to start in New York State. And of course my family and I live in Albany, New York. I wonder how other families are reacting to the news. I wonder if they’re cry, or praying, or possible just accepting the fact that it was going to happen whether they liked it or not.
