Summer sighed deeply as her father's limo stopped an hour away from the academy, pulling next to an older car.

"Summer, you'll be fine. Just don't let people know that I am your father and you'll be fine." She heard the deep rumble in his voice when he spoke. Her father was a world gateway. He was also an ambassador. He cares about her, but he cares about money more. A lot of people want him dead. Including his ex-wife. Summer's mom.

Sighing again she nodded and climbed out of the limo, grabbing the credit card he handed out to her. He smiled tightly and she closed the door, not bothering to smile back. Walking to the other car she listened to the limo pull away, wanting it to come back and take her home. She heard someone say her name and snapped out of her thoughts, looking at the teenager in front of her. The other teen smiled politely.

"I'm Lacey. I'll be taking you to Greystone Academy." Summer nodded and quickly climbed in the passenger seat, buckling up.

Lacey climbed in and tried making small talk, which Summer completely ignored. She watched the snowy landscape pass by as they drove. After almost 45 minutes of driving the snow and trees started to fade out before disappearing completely and being replaced with a field of flowers. "How are flowers growing so beautifully by such a cold area..?" Her thoughts clashed with this as she also thought of what Greystone had in order for her.

She must've been thinking really hard because before she  knew it they were in front of big, old, and bronze gates. Her jaw dropped as she leaned forward and looked out of the front windshield at the gigantic entrance. You would think she wasn't used to things that size when in reality she is. She was born and raised in mansions for goodness sakes. Lacey smiled and honked her horn, rolling her window down when a man in a uniform came up to the car.

"I've got Summer Kennedy. It's her first day." The guard scratched his head and waved them forward, the gates opening wide to let the car pass through. Lacey pulled in front of a small building that didn't quite fit in, but it looked like a cozy cottage. Smiling Summer all but jumped out of the car, closing the door behind her. She stretched her arms over her head and looked down at her outfit. Due to it having been cold where she came from she was wearing skinny jeans, dark brown ugg boots, and a dark brown sweater. Due to the warmth there she started to sweat.

Lacey was already walking into the cottage like building and Summer ran to catch up to her.

"Lacey," she called out. The other teen looked back at her and waited as she caught up, looking surprised when she wasn't out of breath. Summer looked at her confused and Lacey shook her head, opening the door and going in. Summer followed her and saw a head of dark curly hair at a counter. Her eyes scanned his head and he quickly turned, looking straight at her, his blue eyes instantly sparking interest in her blue-greens. She blushed as he smiled and held his hand out.

        "I'm Carter..."

Carter's POV:

His eyes widened when he saw this girl who walked in. Her brown hair was long and amazingly shiny. It looked soft. He couldn't help but have his eyes drawn to her lips. They were perfectly shaped, the Cupid's bow being prominent enough and her bottom lip being full and pink. Her lips looked soft, too. He smiled at this gorgeous girl, noticing that her eyes were a blue-green color, but not a normal blue-green. They were deep and captivating. Absolutely gorgeous. It took him a minute to register that his hand was being held in front of him and he heard himself say "I'm Carter..." what kind of greeting is that? Like, he totally could've done better.

"I've  already fucked this up." He thought to himself as he saw her smile widly. She giggled softly and shook his hand, quickly taking a scan of his features. Strong jaw line, brilliant blue eyes, a full mouth that was quick to easily smile. His eyes were fringed by long, thick, and dark lashes. His hair was curly and was long enough to curl in his eyes. He could tell she was looking at his facial features and smiled slightly, taking the oppourtunity to do the same with her. He saw her stand straighter when he was checking her out. Didn't girls do that when they wanted impress a guy?

"I'm Summer. It's nice to meet you Carter."

Holy crap, her southern accent is perfect. It's thick, but not too thick. The way she said his name made his heart melt. "Maybe I still have a chance with this Ms. Summer..." he thought as she smiled again. He licked his lips and looked at the teen standing next to her. Lacey.

"Lacey," he nodded curtly at her before returning his attention to Summer. He wouldn't quite say he hated Lacey, it's just she could be annoying. Especially to him. She attends the academy on a scholarship, something he personally didn't think they should have. She also had some kind of thing for both him and Christopher, the most popular guy on campus. Carter was second most popular. Christopher was also the richest while Carter was the second richest. One difference between Carter and Christopher; Christopher was  Mr. One Night Stand while Carter was in it for the long-run. Unless, of course, he had a reason to leave or she left him.

"Maybe I can be with Summer..." he thought, smiling at the thought.
