Five days later Even and his men arrived to Akehold with six boats. Three hundred and forty men hopped on shore as a farmer watched them from a distance. He got on his horse then rode away as Even and his men set up camp. Four hours later the farmer arrived at Asbjorn Island as one of the guards stopped him. "Why are you in such a hurry," The guard asked as he grabbed the horse's reins. "The raiders are back," The farmer replied. "They just arrived to shore and they're setting up camp now," The farmer continued as the guard let go of his horse's reins. "Follow me," The guard said as the farmer got off his horse. Twenty minutes later the farmer and the guard arrived to the great hall. "Who is this," King Hjalmar asked. "This is a witness who saw raiders arrived to shore," The guard replied. "I own a farm in one of villages," The farmer said
"I saw their ships pull up to shore before I rode here," The farmer continued. "Did you see who led them here," King Hjalmar asked as he sat down on his throne. "No I didn't see their leader," The farmer replied. "But I did count how many men they have," The farmer continued. "And how many men do they have," King Hjalmar asked. "I counted three hundred and forty men," The farmer replied. "Thank you for this information," King Hjalmar said. "You may take your leave," King Hjalmar continued. "Yes King Hjalmar," The farmer said as he left the great hall. "Get my children for me," King Hjalmar said as he looked at the guard. "Yes King Hjalmar," The guard said as he left the great hall. Five minutes later the guard reached Hertha and Stigr at the blacksmith's shop. "What is it," Hertha asked as she sharpened her axe. "Your father wants to speak with the both of you," The guard replied as he started to walk away. "He's in the great hall waiting for you," The guard continued.
"What could father want with us," Stigr asked as the blacksmith handed him back his sword. "I do not know brother," Hertha replied as she sheathed her axe. Three minutes later Hertha and Stigr arrived to the great hall. "You called upon us father," Hertha asked. "Yes I did," King Hjalmar replied. "A farmer saw raiders arrived to shore. They have three hundred and forty men with them. Yet we have no idea who leads them," King Hjalmar continued. "That's a lot of men father," Hertha said. "I know but with the help of the gods we shall overcome," King Hjalmar said. "You have a plan," Hertha asked. "Yes I do," King Hjalmar replied. "I have four hundred and twenty warriors waiting on you. I need you to destroy their camp before they attack the villages," King Hjalmar continued. "I'll get them ready to leave," Stigr said as he left the great hall.
"Before I leave we need to talk about this upcoming raid we're going to do," Hertha said as she walked towards King Hjalmar. "I found this with the bandits I killed. I've talked with a few people about the map and it turns out it's an island. They say it's impregnable and I want us to raid there to see what they're made of," Hertha continued as she handed him the map. "We'll talk about this after you defeat the raiders," King Hjalmar said as he took the map. "Yes father," Hertha said as she left the great hall. Four minutes later Hertha and Stigr gather the warriors before they ride out of Asbjorn Island. Thirty minutes later they set up camp and sent out Stigr with a few scouts to find the raiders camp. They also had an eye for the leader of the raiders. By nightfall Hertha was in her tent for the night as Olin entered. "What are you doing here Olin," Hertha asked as she looked at Olin with confusion on her face.
"I'm here to see you Hertha," Olin replied as he grabbed Hertha's face. Olin kissed Hertha as he brought her to the bed. Meanwhile Stigr and the scouts found the raider's camp. "Do you see their leader," One of the scouts asked. "Yes I do," Stigr replied as he saw Even. "It's King Calder's brother Even," Stigr continued. Ten minutes later Stigr and the scouts arrived back at camp. Stigr entered Hertha's tent and told her who the leader was. "So he's back for more," Hertha said with a vicious smile. "It seems so sister," Stigr said as he poured three cups of ale. "I say that we attack them in the morning before they wake up," Hertha said as she grabbed one of the cups of ale. "We should move quickly before they attack one of the villages," Hertha continued as she took a sip of ale. "Skol," Stigr said as he took a sip of ale.
The next morning Hertha, Stigr, Olin, and four hundred warriors arrived to Even's camp. While twenty warriors stayed behind to protect the camp. Hertha had six archers lit their arrows on fire then let their arrows loose. Four tents and two bedrolls caught on fire as the camp filled with screams. Even grabbed his sword before he exited his tent. Hertha, Stigr, Olin, and four hundred warriors rushed inside the burning camp. "Shield wall," Even yelled as he grabbed a shield. Even's men gathered around him and build the shield wall. Stigr and a few other warriors broke through the shield wall. Stigr killed five of Even's men with his axe. Hertha killed eight of Even's men with her new sword. Even was about to kill his fifth enemy as Stigr knocked him over. "Shall I give another scar," Stigr asked as he pressed his dagger against Even's stomach.
As Stigr pressed his dagger into Even's stomach, one of his men tackled him. He had his dagger covered in Even's blood in his hand. The man grabbed his axe and was prepared to strike him down. Stigr stabbed him in the throat. Even got away as Stir pushed the dead man's body off. Even looked around him and saw nothing but death. Almost all of his men were dead, the ones still alive were barely holding on. "We need to retreat," Even yelled as he sheathed his sword. "Head back to boats now," Even continued as he ran away. Hertha killed the last man who would stand and fight them as the rest ran like cowards. "How many warriors did we lose," Hertha asked as she sheathed her sword. "Eight of our warriors are dead," Stigr replied as he wiped off his axe. "We should give them a proper funeral," Hertha said.
As Hertha, Stigr, and Olin perared the funeral Even and his men took their boats back to Geirland. Five days later Even and his men arrived back to Geirland. As their boats rode to shore Even's face was filled with sadness and King Calder's face was filled with joy. While back in Earleen Hold Queen Ada was in deep depression as she rot in a cell. King Edwin was lost in his thoughts as a guard walked up to him. "What can I do for you King Edwin," The guard asked. "I need you to an investigation on my son's birth," King Edwin replied. "I need to know if he's really my son," King Edwin continued. "And if he's not," The guard asked with confusion in his voice. "I need to marry another wife," King Edwin replied. "And produce a true heir," King Edwin continued.
