The Beginning

Jasmine sat in her car tapping the gray leather wheel listening to the radio as the long traffic stopped her car from scuttling through the local road. She checked herself out in the rear mirror, pushing up her curly hair to scrunch up the black curls perfectly and swept her side bangs to the side. The summer sun rays shone down on the city, making the AC in her car run wild.

“What the hell is taking so long?” Jasmine straightens up in her seat looking from side to side. Soon she got bored of the radio and took out her text books to study more about brain diseases. It was the most peculiar thing in the body that controls everything. The text book never seems to bore her, but hooked her into the book making time fly by fast. As soon as she arrives at the Munson Miracle General Hospital, Jasmine throws over her white coat and pins her name tag to the side of her chest. She hurriedly walks down the hall to Neurosurgery. Jasmine pushes open the double door of the hall to accompany a guy standing in front of six people.

“I expect you to give me your best during exertion. Do not bring personal tribulations to work and let it affect you during intern hours. I will fail you immediately if any of you fool around.” The tall, handsome guy stood with hands in his white coat pocket, looking at each of the faces carefully.

“Dr. Santiago.” Jasmine walks up to Xavier with a smile and he nodded, returning her with a slight grin. Out of the six students, four were girls and two are guys.

“You, You, and you.” Xavier pointed to a tall guy with spiky hair, a girl with long legs, and a girl with high pigtails. “Intern with Dr. Jasmine Santiago.” The three walked over to Jasmine’s side with a shy smile.

“Hi, I’m Shane.” The guy immediately welcomed himself to Jasmine with a hand. She took it and shakes it right away with a smile at how bold he was.

“April.” The girl with long legs smiled through her blushed cheeks. Her curly hair flows down past her chest and down to her waist, making Jasmine a little bit jealous of how long her beautiful hair was.

“And I’m-” Before the girl that looks like a kid with high pigtails could introduced herself Jasmine received a phone call.

“Follow me to the second floor; we have a patient that needs check up right away.” Jasmine rushes to the stairs with her three interns following behind. Jake was heading the same direction, so he walked along with Jasmine and her interns.

“You’re going to see Ricky?” Jake asks, trying to catch up with Jasmine’s speed.

“His head is aching, and he said he said he couldn’t see well.” Jasmine explains and Jake nodded, knowing the situation. He has worked with this patient before.

“Hey Dr. Santiago, you coming over to dinner tonight?” Alyson rushes by to see Xavier in the middle of yelling at his students.

“Yeah.” He nodded and Alyson smiles rushing over to her patient to check up on him.

“How are you feeling after the surgery?” Alyson pulls out her stethoscope to check the old man’s chest for regular beats. Her curly blond hair hangs low past her waist, beaitng against the sunlight's natural color.

“I feel uncomfortable; do you know if I can take pain killers to help with chest pains?” Dex asks feeling uneasy. Alyson's pink lips curved up trying to kep the patient at ease.

“Where do you feel uncomfortable?” Alyson puts down her clipboard and looks at her patient worriedly.

“I feel drowsy, headache, and nausea. Do you think anything can help, Dr. Knightly?” Dex asks worried for himself and Alyson let out an exhale.
