So I'm basing this story off of a headcannon I found on Instagram. Basically Annabeth is doing homework & Percy keeps distracting her. I ended up making this longer & a little bit more dark so I hope you like it. I can't remember who wrote this headcannon but thanks! Enjoy ~
Annabeth sat at her desk slowly doing all her homework. Didn't teachers know it's meant to be spring break? She turns back to the pages and tries to concentrate. Suddenly there's a creak behind her and the biggest distraction ever walks in. Percy. And he's not wearing a shirt. Damn Hades, why did he have to pick now to walk in looking this hot? She peeled her eyes away from him and tried to go back to her homework. It's pretty impossible, with Percy in the room. "Annabeth?" Gods his voice is enough to make her melt. "Mmhm" she mumbles not taking her eyes off this stupid equation. "Can you take a break a second?" She tries desperately to gain control. "Percy I have homework to do." She sees him roll his eyes and she has to fight to keep a grin off her face. "Yeah but you're Athenian smart, surely you're almost done?" She drops her pen and curses in Greek. "Yeah but I have tons to do and just because I'm smart doesn't mean I can finish 24 pages of calculus in-" She's cut off as he grabs her by the waist from behind. What little resistance she had vanishes and she squeals with delight. She spins around and before she take another breath their lips clash. He's kissing her like never before, as if his life depends on it. Her hands loop around his neck and his grip tightens on her waist. He bites at her bottom lip and she pulls him closer. His kisses send shivers down her spine and she can barely breathe. Suddenly he kisses her so forcefully they bump into the desk, spilling ink all over her notes. The break apart, her face flushed and his eyes wide. "Percy! Now I have to start over!" He grins and places his hand over the notes and all the ink evaporates. She raises her eyebrows, slightly impressed. "Nice one Seaweed Brain." He laughs and pulls her into a hug. They collapse onto her bed and she can feel his heart beating against his ribs against her back.
Annabeth grins up at him. "Would it kill you to wear a shirt?" she asks and watches his eyes light up. "Would it kill you to not?" Gods he's cute when he flirts with her. She laughs and he can feel it through his bones. He wraps his arms around her and she rests her head on his bare shoulder. Annabeth starts to trace the scars that decorate his chest. Others would say they make him look disfigured or ugly but to her they're beautiful. And she knows where each one came from. The long gash across his collarbone from when he fought that Chimera. The curved mark across his wrist from when he cut it on the rocks of Tartarus. Her fingers continue their journey and eventually they curve around the small of his back. His Achilles heel. "Your weak spot" she observes and he grins smugly. "Not anymore." Then his face pales a little, his green eyes turning stormy. "You took a knife in the back for me, because of this weakness" he remembered. She remembered it too. She could've died that day and she would of to save him. "It was worth it. I couldn't loose you Percy." He kissed her lightly on the forehead, a romantic gesture. "Why did you give up immortality for me Percy?" she asked, her fingers still tracing the marks on his wrist. Slowly his hand gave down to find hers and they linked together tightly. "I'd give up anything for you, Wise Girl." She turned around and wriggled into his lap. They hugged, just holding each other for so long. Tears leaked down her face and ran his fingers through her hair. Suddenly the world went dark for her. She began to shake and a slideshow of images flickered through her mind. "Percy! No, not my Percy!" she sobbed, screaming and writhing. "Annabeth, it's not real." She couldn't focus anymore the flashback taking hold of her. "PERCY!" she screamed. Her whole body was shaking in his arms and her breathing was unnaturally rapid. "Annabeth, it's not real. IT'S NOT REAL." She slumped against his shoulder and he ran his fingers through her hair. "Wake up, please Annabeth. Wake up" he murmured. "P-Percy?" she mumbled. "What's your name Annabeth, where are you?" he asked her, it was the only way to wake her up. "Annabeth Chase, I'm with Percy." Slowly her eyes fluttered open and he sighed with relief.
This had happened a few times since they'd come back from Tartarus. Flashbacks. Sometimes so bad that they'd be unconscious for hours. Percy's mom had taken them both to see a specialist doctor for some help, but they were past help. Only each other's arms could comfort them. As long as they were together they were okay. She clung onto Percy as he softly wiped the tears from her face. "I'm sorry. I just-" Percy silenced her. "It's okay, I love you. We made it sweetheart." She looked up at his face, being swallowed into those goregous sea green eyes. Then they kissed. Slowly this time, not desperate but loving, reassuring. As they broke off, Percy laid down, his hair adorably ruffled. Annabeth laid next to him, his arms around her. Slowly their eyes began to close. It was twilight outside now. She guessed that Percy would be staying the night. Not that she minded. "Night Seaweed Brain" she said, kissing his cheek. But Percy was already asleep. Typical.
