This girl? Ch. 2

Saithe helps the stranded girl up as she wipes off leaves. "What did I just witness? " Saithe asks this mysterious girl. "Well, I come from a different realm and I see I landed in one with a half fox. " She replies quickly. "No no you must be mistaken I'm half wolf. My da-I mean.. this hunter said so. " Saithe replies. "The girl looks her up and down. "No, your half fox." She says as if she is sure. "How would you know? " Saithe spats. The girl stops and stares at her making Saithe feel guilty for acting rude. "I-im sorr-" The girl cuts her off "I'm a elf so I can tell" She shows her ears. ", and it's fine, I understand it's weird to meet the likes of me. ". Saithe just imagines what her world is like. " Anyways why are you out in the wood alone? You look around 16," She says bringing Saithe out of her daydream. "Oh, well I just found out some news that my dad's a hunter if my type and um.. He.. Tried to kill me. " Saithe says as if she was ashamed. "Oh, and I'm 16," She adds. The girl nods as if satisfied. "I'm Eve by the way, we are the same age. " Eve tells her. "Well let's find a place to stay if your ok with being by me. " She turns to say. Saithe and her walk in the wood finding shelter.

Saithe was out hunting deer. She didn't feel right using her fox skills, so she just used her pocket knife. She caught one and her and Eve ate it. Saithe thought it was pretty ok while Eve gagged the whole meal. Near noon they wondered around looking for a town of some kind. "I think I hear people up ahead! " Eve says exidedly. They come to a hut which has silhouettes inside. They listen to them. "I'm starving mate, " Says a familiar voice. Saithe gasps and goes inside while Eve follows trying to stop her. There in that hut was Fredrick and Jayce. "I can't believe this! " Saithe says angry. "Oh, puppy doesn't enjoy our gift? " Says Jayce mockingly. Saithe growls unknowingly. Then suddenly she bites him! He yells then Fredrick pushes her to the ground. Eve then kicks him where it hurts and helps Saithe up. Then they run far away. But saithe heard behind her "We'll get you, you little brat! "

When the sun was starting to set they has made great progress. They made to a farm area and started looking for people. "You know that was really stupid back there. " Eve finally spoke. "Yeah, but I couldn't help it they were the ones to give me this terrible curse. " Saithe said sighing. "How's it so terrible? " Eve asked. "I lost my dad, my home, my partly ok life. " She said upset. Eve glances at her then unexpectedly gives her a hug. Saithe slowly starts giving her a hug back. She hasn't gotten a hug since her mothers death. "I know it may be tough, but we have each other now, " Eve tells her. "Yeah, it's nice to have a actual friend, " Saithe says smiling. Then they start looking for a town again.

By night, they had just made it to a town. Saithe had enough money to get them a motel. They ate the free dinner there then went to bed. Saithe awoke from the sound of scratches. It was coming from the door. She carefully got up trying not to wake Eve. The scratching came with a cry. Eve opened the door, just to be knocked over by a dog! She petted it and started to laugh at how she was scares of it. "Do you not have a family? " She asked it. "No, " It said. Saithe was shocked she just understood it. "Since your half fox you understand him, " Eve says. Saithe turns to look at her only now noticing she was watching them. "We can keep it, " Eve says with a sigh know what she was going to ask. Saithe just smiles and turns to the dog. "You heard that! " She tells the dog. "Yay a new master! " It says exited. "What's your name? " Saithe asks it. "I'm Dave, " The dog replies. They get back to bed as Dave seems as happy as ever.

Saithe wakes up yet again but to the morning sun. She hears screaming and gunshots outside. She looks out the window and standing out there causing the riot, was her dad. "Where is she?! " Is all he would keep yelling. Saithe closes the curtains before being seen. "I can believe he found me, " Saithe thought to herself. She then woke Eve and Dave. "We need to leave quickly and quietly, " Saithe tells them. "Why, what's going on? " Eve says still half asleep. "That hunter I talked about is out there. " Saithe replied to her."Fine, let's hurry then, " Eve adds, making the bed. Then the door opens. Bam! In the doorway her dad has his gun aimed at her as they lock eyes. Thump thump, Saithe hears her heartbeat as one last thought comes to her mind, "If I die what will happen to Eve? "...
