It was kido's turn to cook today, she didn't really mind it but everyone else is always excited because "kido-chan's cooking is the best!" However she just came back from a hard day of work under the rain and felt exhausted as she slumped over the couch soaked from the rain water, she used her hand to cover her eyes to keep the light from piercing her drowsiness. After a deep exhale she uncovered only one eye to see a few members of the dan sitting in front of the TV like little kids, there was seto with his legs extended out and leaning back with arms as support behind him. Mary was lying on her belly with her palms balancing her head, kicking her legs up out of rhythm and momo just sitting up straight with legs crossed. Kido looked up into the ceiling and yawned before she fell asleep.

"welcome back ki-!" Yelled kano as he popped up from behind the sofa.

"Gahh!" Kido was scared half to death and proceeded to subconsciously punch him within a split second after being woken up. With kano flat on the ground kido sat up from the sofa, concerned that she just accidentally punched him so hard he fell backwards, but she refused to give him that caring look instead gave him the 'watch yourself next time' look as she glared over the sofa to see kano almost paralysed from that unexpected hit.

"I just wanted to say hello~" as kano helplessly twitched a finger and a foot.

"Well that wasn't the way to was it?" As she walked over to kano and pulled him up by the hand.

"C'mon there always has to be someone here to lighten up moods! K-kido...? Why are you drenched? Ahaha! You got the outdoor shift didn't you?" Kano tried his best to hide his laugh but of course he acted like he was never good at it.

"Shut up!" Kido looked almost embarrassed even though she had no reason to be, she removed her hood to help her cool down. "So what if I had outdoor shifts today? ...By the way how long did I sleep?"

"Ermm, about three hours" estimated kano.

"Th-three hours?! We are starting dinner in 35 minutes! I need to hurry up!"

"Hey, it's fine. I got you okay? I'll just disguise as you while cooking." Kano said as he put his hand on kido's shoulder.

"I'm pretty sure they will find out it's not my cooking kano, you probably don't even know how a stove works..." Kido joked.

"Hey hey hey... I know how stoves work... And besides Seto, Mary and momo are all distracted by the TV and shintaro is distracted by the computer... and by ene. Konoha is out with Hibyia for a walk as usual. You don't really need to stress okay?" Kano winked. "And if anything I can help you yeah?"

"You're probably going to accidentally kill yourself with a whisk or something. But yeah, I would appreciate your help." Kido smiled.

After a few minutes everyone was at the table eating and chatting away happily.

"Aww come on, being a cute cyber girl is sure hella fun but why is it so much like torture to sit in front of such a delicious looking cuisine? It's so not fair!" Complained ene.

"Hmm? Oh I'm sorry ene, I'm too occupied in eating I can't hear you complaining about what ever your complaining about." Shrugged Shintaro as he continued chewing mouthfuls of kido and kano's cooking.

"Master your so insensitive! From now on I'll tell danchou to never cook for you!" Cried ene.

"Say, where is danchou?" Momo pointed out.

"Ah, she went to bed early because of today's work." Answered kano. "I'll go check on her." kano excused himself and walked towards kido's room.

As the door to kido's room slowly opened kano peeked his head in, only to find kido asleep lying on her side, but she was sweating. Kano looked at kido's red, dormant face and panicked right on instinct. "Kido! You alright?"

Kido struggled to open her eyes leaving only a blurred and distinct picture of kano wearing a worried expression. "...Hey kano."

"Oi...Kido how did you get sick..? You were fine less than half an hour ago! How did this even happen?" Questioned kano.

"I am sometimes even better then disguising my fever then you're eye ability." Joked kido as she coughed on different intervals while trying to talk. But kano didn't laugh, not even a single muscle from his cheek was raised, kano was being serious seeming he has never seen kido sick for a really long time.

"I just haven't slept much, that's all." Kido was hoping that saying this would make kano calm down, it wasn't natural to see kano in this mood.

"How long did you sleep for last night." Kano was still serious, his tone sounded as if like he demanded the answer. But it was strange, for him to suddenly bring something like that up.

"Oh... a few hours, you don't need to worry about me I'll be better soon-" kido tried to put on a act to settle down kano but he didn't buy it.

"You didn't sleep at all did you? You don't have to lie to me I know already...as soon as we all went to bed last night I walked into your room and the window were wide open, your bed was empty too" Said kano, "where did you leave off to?"

"...early shifts." Kido lied.

"Cut the crap kido, you of all people should know that I know when someone is lying." Kano sighed, he knew he can't get anything out of kido at this rate so he walked away to join everyone else in dinner and as soon as kano opened the door half way to exit, kido quickly sat up and talked.

"A leader has to do what a leader does kano!" Kido shouted, he gotten kano's attention as he stood his ground for a few seconds.

"A leader is nothing without a team kido. You have a good nights rest." And after that, kano closed the door behind him leaving kido alone in the room again and after a few seconds, kido fell back onto the bed with a terribly regretful look on her face.

"Why can't I just tell him." Kido sighed.
