Says Mr. Martin booth,
I was sitting in courtyard in kaladhungi, being obsessed!
A village that Mr. Corbett possessed!
Preparing a documentary that would give Corbett's soul a sooth,
Says Mr. Martin Booth...
Some were shooting and acting, those who were not engaged were squatting in the short shadows of late morning.
The actor playing Jim was Mr. Frederick Treves,
Resting under paw- paw trees with some shedding leaves...
Sir! A local staff from the film crew, announced to me, and old fellow wants to meet "Carpet Sahib the great"
And, the one who introduces them, two hundred rupees he will await...
I supposed he longing to meet the actor,
But bleakly, it wasn't the factor....
I licensed him to insert,
The old fellow ran and descended in the actor's feet, after the permit!
The old guy caught everyone's eyes,
But, he was not conscious of Mr. Corbett's demise...
Somehow we raised him and tried to persuade,
But, he was unwilling to demonstrate
We tried to apprise him that Fredrick Treves was just an actor and,
About the eternal rest of sir Corbett, the legend reflector.
Instead of being proved to, he said,
"No, he committed us to come home again and,
We all got gleeful with his regain"
The old sage had walked virtually non – stop for forty eight hours on hearing this news over jungle grapevine,
Just for the visions of the divine!!!
The feeling that captivated that old sage from miles far was actually Carpet sahib's magnetism!
What to vocalise about him, he was a legend...the greatest of all was his dynamism!!!
