Their fingers were intertwined while the blue sky looked down upon them, lying down with white rhodendrons as their bed he turned a little to see her face. Her nose ring glistened by the sunlight whereas her long hair cascaded like a waterfall.
"What are you staring at?" Her husky voice never failed to quicken his heartbeat. Her smile was so infectious that he could not help but to smile back.
'Just wondering are your earrings pretty or is it because you are wearing them'. He traced his hands gently along her chandelier earrings.
'Janab Aditya Hooda aren't you forgetting something?' she questioned him while tracing his jawline with her delicate fingers. He relished her touch by closing his eyes.
"You were suppose to go to the airport, to receive her."
Aditya opened his eyes and stared at the reminder on his phone that instructed, 'pick Zara from the airport'.
At the airport
"Meer will you stop not sulking for once. What will your elder sister think?" Noor tried to straighten her fifteen year olds collar.
'She will always think that she can get away with everything and everyone loves her more than they love me'. Meer retorted to his mother.
"Alright you two she is finally here", Arjun still had his phone camera on to record her first meeting with the family after such a long time.
Dressed in a casual pair of joggers, loose fitting shirt with her hair in a messy bun twenty year old Zara Hooda covered her eyes with a pair of black wayfarer. Anjana and Harsh instantly pulled her for a long time to hug and she was more than glad to see her grandparents. Noor looked away for the similarities were uncanny, Zara looked like a split image of her sister. After hugging Arjun, she stood in front of Noor,
"Chachi, I'm so sorry for reminding you of her all the time".
Noor embraced her tightly and somehow it felt like hugging her appi after so many years.
'I missed you so much meri jaan'. Noor kissed her shoulder.
This was Zara's family, her chacha chachi were the only parents she knew. From the corner of her eye she saw her younger brother all in tears.
"Awww, come here my softy" she teased him.
'You people have turned the airport into a sentimental Bollywood film' Meer said while hugging his sister.
" What did you think that your blackmailing antics will work?" Zara mischievously announced in her little brothers ears.
'Just give me sometime, I swear I will prove it in front of ammi and the rest that you were holding hands with that firang' Meer shot back smiling. The Hooda's had gathered Zara's luggage and were about to leave the airport when a man accidentally collided with Zara.
"Sorry miss are you hurt". The middle aged man asked politely.
When Zara looked at his face there was complete silence, Arjun saw what happened but Zara subtly signalled him not to intervene.
'Are you looking for someone sir?' Zara cleared her throat.
The middle aged man with dishelved hair was looking around the airport.
"Yes, actually my wife has asked me to bring our daughter from the airport but I am not being able to find her." He continued searching with his eyes.
"Did you see a little girl around five year old? Her ammi will be very angry with me if I don't find her."
Zara could feel the knot in her throat from the corner of her eyes she could see her grandmother and chachi sobbing as Meer hugged both of them and her grandfather and chachu stood there helplessly witnessing the scene.
'Why didn't her ammi come to get her then?' She knew she was hurting herself but somehow she could not stop herself.
"Bahut naajuk hai meri Zoya usse aise bheed pasand nahin hai". He was smiling even at the mention of her name.
'Don't worry aapki beti mil jayegi, main use dhoond k le aungi'. He placed his hand in her head and she buried her face in his chest.
'Pa, it's me your Zara' hearing this Aditya hugged his daughter tightly. She was already her mother's height how did he not know that he wondered.
