CHAPTER 53: SURREAL

I sat there in a complete daze watching everyone rushing around frantically. I couldn't quite get my head around it. My baby girl was getting married, Alice was doing Nessie's hair, She had asked Alice to do it similar to how I had had my hair on mine and Edward's wedding day. Alice was currently putting the braid's in. Ness was sitting there giggling excitedly with Alice. Watching as she put on her beautiful dress I gasped in astonishment. She looked stunning, Every bit the perfect princess.

Everything was all happening so fast. The next thing I knew I was sat in the front row of seat's as the music played, I recognised the music although I couldn't quite place my finger on it, Renesmee started to walk down the aisle, I stood up, turning to watch my precious little girl walk toward's me. Could this really be happening? I felt a lump, the size of a gob stopper, rise in my throat. I wasn't ready for this. I wasn't ready to say good-bye to my little girl, to watch her marry Jacob.

 I watched, utterly stunned as she reached the aisle and took Jacob's hand. She turned briefly and I caught sight of her once more, she looked heart heartbreakingly beautiful. A few bronze ringlet's hung loosely, framing her face whilst the rest of her hair was pulled back and arranged atop her head. I could see 2 delicate silver drop's hanging from her ear lobe's. Edward kissed her delicately on the cheek and turned to take his seat next to me. Alice and Rosalie stood beside Ness, dressed in light pink bridesmaid dresses. Seth was stood beside Jacob, acting as his best man, they were both dressed in black tuxedos, with baby pink neck tie's. I tried to steady my breathing as I watched the scene unfold before me. Was this really happening? Surely not?

And then the minister began to speak;

"We are gathered together here in the presence of God, friend's and family to celebrate the love which Renesmee and Jacob have for each other, to give social recognition to their decision to commit their live's and accept each other completely, to learn how to help and understand each other, to build a family, and together, to travel through life. If any of you has anything to say that might change their mind's... they... don't want to hear it"

"they should!" I tried to mutter to myself, this was too soon. I can't handle this.

"However" the minister continued "they do want to hear from you that you are their village, that you will always be their friend's, and will always support and encourage them as they discover the commitment and dedication needed to make marriage work. And that is why you are here today, and they hope you will be here every day to share from your wisdom, to share what you have learned from your relationship's and your life"

I looked around and saw Rachel sat on the opposite side of the alter from me, a few tear's flowing down her cheek watching her younger brother marry.

"Before we go to the vow's, we'll pray to the Great Spirit, in the traditional, Native American way" The Minister continued, apparently oblivious to the death stare's I was now giving him.

"God in heaven above please protect the one's we love.

We honour all you created as we pledge our heart's and live's together".

"We honour mother Earth and ask

for our marriage to be abundant and grow stronger through the season's";
