Once, in a cabin north of Victoria, lived a girl and the Budgie family. Yellow hair ran through the family, and as the genes passed through each new member, that newborn would grow up with a new tale to tell, while not knowing where they belong in society. Dorothy, the newest addition to the family, came around 2:50 am; as the mother was holding her new bundle of joy, something peculiar was upon them, the child, who seemed overly normal & precious, had black hairs peeking out of her head. Every single family member was bright blonde so it was a shocking surprise to see their newest family addition with something so rare.
"Mama?"
Said 5 year old Anita Belle Budgie, the third child in the small-ish family. The Budgie family was quite peculiar in a way; everyone knew who they were, except that when the Budgie family actually visited Luca Town, no one seemed to recognize them as if they were invisible to the naked eye; the Budgie family almost never left the trees outside their cabin.
The residents in Luca Town, had their own problems. It was the early 30s and no one over the age of 10 messed around, for if they did, it was seen as improper and rude.
"Yes Sweetie?" Replied the Mother.
"What is her name?"
With her face hot and sweaty because she had just given birth, her mother, smiling, said the first heart felt name that came to mind,
"Dorothy."
"Mama?" That recognizable high-pitched voice said again,
"Yes?"
"Why is she odd?"
This question struck her mother and told tiny Anita, and the rest of the children, that Dorothy isn't odd, she's unique and beautiful in her own way. Donna, the eldest of the children, who was rather superstitious, thought that Dorothy's hair was a symbol of evil, and that the new baby was the opposite of a blessing on the family. Joseph, the second eldest, who was the age of 10, which was almost exactly 3 years younger than Donna, didn't really care about Dorothy's hair, and overall was just upset because he wanted a baby brother instead. The three children nodded their blonde heads in response to their mother's words and stood quiet for the next thirty minutes while their father and mother relaxed, smiling at their new beautiful baby girl. Sleeping, nestled in her mother's arms, Dorothy was going to live a life filled with surprises and more adventure than anyone in her family had ever experienced, and her story has just begun...
