"Hey kids! How was school?" My mom exclaims as we walk into the kitchen.
"It was great." I sign, grabbing an apple from the basket on the kitchen island. "I'm going to go change then go for a run."
"Alright." My mom answers.
I walk up the stairs and turn to the right to get to my room. When I walk in, there is a folded up piece of paper on my bed. I don't remember that being there before.
I walk over to my bed and grab the paper. I unfold it to read what it says. My hands start shaking in the middle of reading it.
Hello again Syana. I have missed you. Have you missed me? I can not wait to get my hands on you. Don't worry, it will be soon. Until then, live your life. ~K.S.
He can't be here. We moved so far, so how could he be here?
I put the note in the bottom of my dresser and cover it with clothes then take out my sports clothes and quickly change. I grab a hair tie then throw my hair up.
Bye mom, I'll be back soon." I sign to my mom. She answers as I close the door. I take off sprinting and before I know it, I am at the park on the other side of town.
Is he really here? I can't let him hurt my family and I again. Suddenly I hear a crack of branches and see a dark silhouette nearby trees. No, it can't be him.
I take off running as fast as I can with tears streaming down my face as terrified as ever, then suddenly I run into a broad chest and it causes me to let out a loud scream.
I back away and look up to see the blue eyed guy just staring at me. Reece. It is just Reece. A frown appears on his face as soon as he see's the state I am in. Then it changes to a cold glare.
"Hey, watch where you are going." He says. Then his eyes goes soft. "Are you ok?" My breathing was so hard right now that I couldn't even nod my head. He then walks closer to me and I look up into his blue eyes.
"Come on. Sit on this bench right here so you can control your breathing." He says. I follow him to the bench and not long after sitting down my breathing goes back to normal but I still have tears running down my face.
"Would you like to tell me what's wrong now?" He asks.
"I can't. I'm sorry but I just can't." I sign, and just like the girl in the cafeteria, he just watches my hands. The only difference is that he looks confused. Looking back up into his eyes, he scoots closer to me, so that our faces are just inches apart.
"Can you not speak?" He asks. I need to just tell him the truth on why I can't tell him. But I can't. He doesn't understand me and he will be in danger if I tell him. So, I just nod my head. He reaches in a bag he was carrying on his back. He grabs a notepad and pen out of it and hands it to me.
"Tell me now?" He asks.
"You will be in danger if I tell you." I write honestly, looking back at him his face is so close to mine now. His face inches toward mine even more, now our lips are brushing together. I just sit there frozen looking into his eyes as does he do the same.
I look away and hurriedly jot something down on the notepad. "I need to get home now."
"Let me drive you. It's dark out now." He says standing up, reaching his hand out for me to grab.
I grab his hand then we go to his car. I give him my address and before I know it, we are in front of my house.
I write down, "Thank you, Reece." Then I go to hand him his notepad back.
"Ah, so you know my name Ginger." He says. I blush.
"Ginger?" I write.
"Your hair is red and curly, so I figured that nickname suits you well." He says, causing me to blush more.
I go to hand him his notepad but he tells me to keep it in case I ever need it again.
I close his car door and before I open my front door, I look back to see Reece sitting there staring at me with a smirk.
When I walk in, I go straight to my room to get a shower. I probably look a mess right now.
After I get a shower I just sit there reading the note over and over. I don't understand how he found me.
Hours later I hear my stomach grumble so I decide to get food. When I get down stairs, my mom is already fixing my plate.
"Ah, you're back, I was just about to put your plate in the fridge." She says, handing me the plate.
I eat my food, lost in thought about the note. Then suddenly my mind goes to Reece. He and I almost kissed. That can not happen again.
I go back up stairs then lay down in my bed ready to go to sleep. Then suddenly, my phone starts to ring, and a text pops up. Unknown number. My hands immediately start to shake as I swipe to read the text.
"Hey, it's Samantha." I read. Oh.
"How did you get my number?" I ask.
"I asked your brother. I just wanted to text you so you can have my number now. I'm going to bed now though so goodnight." I read.
"Goodnight." I type back then put my phone on charge and lay down. Too bad I won't ever be able to get close to her. She seems like she would be a great friend.
After laying there for a while, sleep finally takes over. Making me unaware of my surroundings.
