Chapter Three

Harumi's Pov

We were lying on the roof waiting for the signal. I was a nervous wreck. I hadn't seen my team, er friends? No... I hadn't seen the other soldiers since that day. I hadn't seen my boyfriend since then either. I knew what he was capable of... 'thanks to my manipulation.' I thought ashamed. Skylor must've seen my face drop because she reached her arm to rest on my. "It's not your fault" She said her eyes still glued on the clouds above; gray, and stormy. Not a single ray of sunshine since he left. "I know, but you and the other elemental masters wouldn't have been captured if it weren't for me" I thought bittersweetly. I had to admit I was a little proud of what I could accomplish as the Quiet one. But I had turned a new leaf, I was the Dawn Ninja. I was clothed in my ex-boyfriends gold suit, I could do this.

We watched as a burst of red fire went into the sky followed by a flash a ice. That was our signal, it was now or never. I shared a panicked look with Skylor before we threw the hatch door open sliding down the ladder as fast as we could. "I know this place like the back of my hand" I whispered to her, leading the way. I quickly rushed down the hall into the control room. The towers defenses was linked to one panel, a dumb layout if you ask me. I quickly typed in the password and started messing with the system. Skylor stood watch as I heard shouting, we were running out of time. I needed to find Lloyd's memory file... if not all would be lost, because of me. 

Lloyd's Pov

I was right, as always. Cole and my father were going head to head, they both had gotten stronger. Conflict powered my father, but it seemed Jay's death powered Cole. Kai and I were dueling and I hadn't even tapped into my full potential. Kai's anger made his technique sloppy, yet his temper and temperature were quite hot. "I see you all are doing well" I said as I threw a burst of my dark energy at him. He growled as his fist lit on fire. "You killed him, one of your brothers" He said as I hesitated. "Focus your energy on the light bulb, feeling the electricity in your body and harness it" "I am not Jay! It's Fritz Donegen!" My eyes widened as I dodged an attack. My memories were once again ruining me. "I did what had to be done, I warned him" I explained as I landed a hit on Kai's leg. "I told him he could beg for mercy, he refused. He had the option to call for you all, he refused. He died a coward, just like you will." I answered as I went to strike Kai with the same intensity I used on Jay. Suddenly lightning struck ten feet away from us, sending us all flying backwards. I opened my eyes to see the charred ground. Kai was beside me, my father and Cole already back at it. "Lloyd you don't have to do this, this isn't you!" He coaxed. I knew where this was headed, last time I had this conversation someone died. "Kai, I'm warning you" I growled. I was not in the mood to talk. "Lloyd just hear me out! You've come so far!" He said. That word triggered everything. "You've come so far since the serpentine days!" "Lloyd you don't have to do this" "you've come so far!" "I know what you are... a monster" I blinked as I charged my power standing up. My hands and whole body were glowing. "DON'T GO THERE, JAY SAID THE SAME THING AND YOU SAW WHERE THAT GOT HIM" I yelled as I released all my pent up anger and power. I watched as Ice shielded Kai as I felt a presence from the third story. There stood a figure dressed in gold I knew those eyes anywhere, she stood in a broken window with the master of amber beside her. "Rumi..." I whispered. 

Harumi's Pov

We ran towards the sound of lightning striking the pavement. We were on the third floor when Skylor ran off. 'Where is she going?!' I asked exasperated. I followed after her just in time to see her smash a window. I ran up and watched in fear at the sight I saw. Lloyd was glowing purple using his inner fire, the same he did to Jay. I watched in horror as he released it. Skylor used Zane's power to shield Kai from the wrath. The ice slowly started melting as Lloyd looked up and made eye contact with me. "Rumi..." I somehow heard him whisper. I held my ground as I removed my hood letting my white hair flow in the wind. This was the dawn of a new princess.

We had to move quickly now that Lloyd had spotted us. "Are you sure you won't lose control?" Skylor asked handing me the mask of hatred. I smirked. "I was the quiet one, I've got this" I said putting the mask in one of the giant secret pockets this suit had. I suddenly understood how they hid their katanas. "Will you be able to power it? You need a lot of hatred to be able to take Lloyd down" Nya asked through the intercom they had given me. "Trust me, I have plenty of that" I replied as we ran down the stairs. 'Breathe, you've got this' I reassured myself. I needed all the confidence I could get. We came out of the main door as we eyed the scene in front of us. The ninja were holding up with minor cuts and bruises. Lloyd noticed me and sent Kai to the ground with a yelp. I watched as he walked over. 'I hope Kai is alright' I thought as I noticed him rubbing his ankle. "Harumi..." Lloyd said trailing off. He didn't deserve to be standing in front of me. I had many years of evil... I've learned that it doesn't help you cope with the lost of everything. "That's my name" I answered snarkily. "Same temper I see" He chuckled. I pulled my hood up as I narrowed my eyes. "Give up, you know I'll win again" Lloyd advised reaching his hand out towards me. I slowly grabbed the mask from behind me, keeping it hidden. "You May be the man, but I have the power" I said as I slipped the mask on. The power started to flicker as I panicked. 'You hate him, he doesn't love you, he will kill all of you, he murdered the love of your best friends life. Jay was nothing but nice to you' I told myself fueling my anger and hatred for the man I once loved. "We will see who wins" I said my voice morphed by the mask, you couldn't even tell it was me. "I warned you" he said firing up.
